I worked out some administrative and self-care problems. Washing my hair at the sink is sure a lot easier than showering. Mood is still mildly depressed but with the messy wet snow today it's not a surprise. Only five more days left in January! Yay!

Hugs to all who need them!

I’m glad you found solutions. I can’t believe how fast this month has gone by !

I have always washed my hair in the sink , I was brought up that way.. we had a well so my parents were always about saving water.

Every blue moon I might occasionally wash mine in the shower but it takes too long, plus I shower every single day but it’s not healthy to wash your hair daily, (I just wind it up in a clip ) unless I’m outside sweating dirty I was my hair twice a week , it’s so thick it takes all day to dry and I won’t blow dry it , if I do I’d look like a poodle LOL

I have to get 2 teeth pulled because my insurance denied the request from my dentist for root canals, so I'll schedule that tomorrow. Frustrated about it but it is my own fault, the years I was bulimic really caused a lot of damage to my teeth. Thankfully they're teeth in the back. I have an infection in one I'm on antibiotics for right now. Think I have like 5 more days left of taking them.

Hope everyone is doing okay and has a good week
An infected tooth can be so very painful!

I think it is a crime that people cannot get decent dental care for very reasonable prices. I also feel Medicare and Medicaid should also offer this service as well! I am saddened you are without dental care.

Are you able to find enough to eat through community meals? Don't you get hungry in between meals, esp btw dinner and breakfast? Maybe you go to meals for dinner only?

I hope you don't mind my questions. I hope to understand more about what your life is like. I feel you are a very strong person! Yet, even the strongest can get weary.

I hope we can support you in ways most helpful to you!?

Much Love!

Pdoc at 3:30 today. I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a rough month+. I have not been stable.

I’m going to set up an appointment with a therapists or clinician too. I’ve tried in the past and it didn’t really help, but it’s been ages and I’m ready to give it another try.

There’s a place near here that serves breakfast and lunch. And a place right a cross the street from there that serves dinners. Also, one of the places gives out sandwiches 24/7 so if you want you can stop by and ask for sandwiches and they’ll give you a paper bag with a couple sandwiches made with lunch meat and some condiments. I’m lucky to live where I do, there’s lots of resources for people struggling

giddykitty, I have always found that setting interim goals worked best for me, rather than looking at a much larger total goal. The fact is, smaller amounts are bigger than many think. For example, when you lose 5 lbs, you're basically removing the weight of a brand new bag of flour. That's a lot!

whatever2013, I sometimes wash my hair and not my body and vice versa. It's not so much for saving water, in my case, but it makes the task seem less intimidating. Like Christina, I don't think my hair should be washed daily, or even every other day, unless I sweat a lot. My hair doesn't look greasy very easily. Of course there does come the time when it truly looks like it needs it, then I have good motivation to rectify that.

yellow_fleurs, it is nice to see you back. Like the others wrote, there is never a requirement to read and respond to a lot of people, if you can't. Sometimes I respond much more often than other times. Sometimes I just pick one post to respond to. When I'm in those states, I try to vary who I respond to.

Blue_Bird, my husband is in a position where he's not getting two teeth fixed. One of his molars is just 1/2 (the other half fell out), and another is cracked. They stopped hurting, so he's going to leave them as is, for now. He's thinking about traveling to Europe to get them done. His friend in his native country is a dentist. They don't charge even close to what dentists charge in the US.

Jester's Rags, I hope you have a good psychiatrist appointment this afternoon. As for therapists, there are ones out there that you would probably like. It is tough finding them, sometimes. I had to try a number before I found a good fit. Then I sort of figured out how to find other good ones, more easily.

Christina, I'm sorry you're still having issues with your sleep. I don't see you as nonsensical. You seem sensible and rational to me, with oodles of substance!

I’m so excited you are able to move, daunting thought but once your moved in I’m sure the cheaper rent will make life a bit easier.

So sorry about your teeth and insurance denial. That’s just awful. I am glad you got on antibiotics tho, dental infections can quickly spread into your whole body, especially the heart.

I hope things settle down soon
Thanks Christina! Yes, the cheaper rent will really relieve my financial struggles thankfully.

I hope you're doing well

Well every one started a “ find a house Hippo” I want one so bad ! It’s any kind of Hippos ... glass, ceramic , medal etc etc.

Today some one posted a hippo , a gray shiny ceramic socute!!! she had him all set and wearing the seat belt. I’m literally dying !!!

Maybe I can go hunting for one , some people find one for a dollar or two or 50+ , I want a dollar one of course lol !

It’s just a really cool page, people find the wacky crazy clothes , today someone modeled a adult onesie, the material was solid candy corn print 7 dollars yes they bought it hahah

Lots of scary pictures or dolls etc

So, I'm definitely oversleeping again, but in my defense I woke up several times in the night and I was also trying to sleep through my husband's work (he's on call and works on the computer and sometimes has to take calls). Anyway, I mean I had an excuse with the Nyquil the past few days, but I didn't take it last night. I dunno. I'm still a little sick, but I fear I'm gonna get lectured again about too much sleep if this doesn't fix soon.
Right, so it's now after 2pm and I need to have breakfast and take my meds. Bleh!

My sister is being abusive toward people again, including my dad.

My dad yelled at her because she almost ran over a guy crossing the street with a baby in his arms. He wasn't in a crosswalk, but apparently she was driving 50mph in a 30mph zone and said, "I don't care. There's no crosswalk," and came within like 1 foot of hitting him. (Apparently it was VERY close.) And then she almost hit someone at a stop sign about 2 mins later because she didn't stop completely or look both ways. Now she has been yelling at my dad and saying he's an asshole for telling her how to drive. blah blah blah. And she says he's a POS who clearly doesn't love her. Then my dad said to her that she is being abusive and needs to be respectful. Now she's saying that he's an asshole and that he doesn't deserve her respect.

My sister never learns. She always treats people like trash and doesn't care about consequences. She expects everyone to give her what she wants and let her do what she wants. All she cares about is herself, social life, and material things, sadly.

OMG, what a piece of work!! I know you already know this. She needs to learn about IMPLIED CROSSWALKS. I don't know for sure if it is the same in MA, but they are at intersections REGARDLESS of not having a painted crosswalk. As soon as the pedestrian signals intent to cross (puts foot out etc.) they have right-of-way. It pisses me off to no end that people do not know this very important rule of the road. Because yeah, I've been that person nearly hit many, many times. People simply do not give a ****.

I've never heard of implied crosswalks around here, but I don't think it really matters, because if you hit and kill someone, the family can sue you for wrongful death regardless of who had the legal right of way. That lawsuit on its own is way worse than a ticket, but my sister doesn't seem to understand that. I mean, you can still lose the lawsuit even if you had the right of way. Then you can lose your license, have to pay millions of dollars, and all that.

I just let people cross the street regardless if there's a crosswalk because I don't want to be implicated in a lawsuit. Plus, it doesn't take that much time out of your day to let someone cross the street. You lose MAYBE 10 seconds.

My sister only cares about herself, though. It hurts to know that she puts herself above all others, including that man with his baby. An innocent baby who didn't even get to choose if she wanted to cross the street or not.

My sister needs an intervention, but I don't think you can help someone who doesn't want help. I mean, she thinks there's nothing wrong with the way she's behaving, soooo

What a piece of work. I have difficulty tolerating people like your sister who consistently treat others like trash, never learn, only care about themselves and their little lives

I'm sorry you have to put up with a blood relative who is so utterly selfish

Hi Blue,

I am sorry your sister continues to demonstrate her insolence to family, as well as toward other members of the community.

I know her behaviors are very unsettling to both you and to your family.

I understand your parents have tried hard to work with her in order to help her to change her behaviors. It often sounds like she somehow prefers her obnoxious and very hurtful ways. I cannot imagine that anyone acting this way is content inside ; just look at the nature of what pours out of her, even just verbally. it's abusive, very upsetting and just plain toxic.

My main concern is you and with how this affects you.
I do know you have extended an olive branch many times. I know you have tried so hard to have a loving, healthy sisterly relationship with her. I am so very sorry you've been disappointed over and over.

I have been hoping your sister was just in a "stage" and would shift her behaviors, being there for you. I am sad for you that this has not happened.

I am trying to imagine what it must feel like to you, while you are in the midst of this degree of chaos, along with people you do love and do respect, like your dad, for instance?

I think I'd have many different emotions all at once!

In so many ways, your sister seems to be the antithesis of you and of who you are, what you stand for.

I wish I had some great advice right now, but I don't.
As I have shared with you, I have a sister who behaves in a very similar fashion and she is also very defiant no matter the consequences,

I think the best we can do, during the most difficult times, is to protect ourselves from abuse and from any triggers. I know I often have to step back and just release it all and try to move on. It is sad; I grieve what might have been with my sister.

A part of the problem is the fact that you enjoy time with your parents and your sister is too often some sort of a bitter side-kick. I mean, you often cannot spend time with your parents without finding yourself trying to digest your sister's toxic fumes!

I am so sorry her behaviors disappoint you, as a sister. I am also sorry she makes family life so chaotic whenever she creates rolls in like a wild hurricane!

I am so very sorry, Blue.

I am here for you anytime!
