Just spoke with my son, he's up in Portland, said the smoke is so bad he and my DIL are leaving for Spokane earlier than they'd planned.

3 hours of sleep last night. Not feeling my best.

However, I went to a local store and bought some goodies to snack on. So, I'm trying to feel good.

I cannot wait to receive my insurance card in the mail, so I can get my physical. I need to treat my acid reflux/GERD which I think contributes to my lack of sleep. I also cannot wait to get my bipolar cocktail together. I need something - absolutely something - to rid myself of this damn insomnia. My body and mind hurts something terrible.

I cannot open my door or windows thanks to the fire and smoke. I live in L.A. and the fires make breathing unbearable.

Yeah, my coworker was reading how Portland is officially #1 in worst air quality in the world today. Ugh. It truly is awful out there.

Indoors isn't necessarily great either.

Also, another of my coworkers lives near the edge of a "be ready to evacuate" area. This year TRULY sucks.

I had ECT today. - No, that's a joke. I remember that I've already reported in saying I'd had a treatment.

Anyhow, I was pretty doped up when I checked in then so I want to add something now. I mentioned to my doc my idea of writing a guide to the patient's experience while undergoing ECT. She received the idea well, offering to help in any way she could. Ironically, I don't feel as excited about that as I did this morning. I

I'm sorry. Did they change your meds? If so, maybe it will just take a little bit for them to kick in.

Sounds like that will be easier on your brain to handle just having the two at low doses.

I'm almost done with my evil paperwork! I just need to get a letter and fill out one more page and I'm done! Then I can mail it and I HOPE it will be there on time (since the mail is still slow!)!

Yep - that's what it looks like here, too. Well, the kids are stopping to see friends in Pullman, WA - then straight over to Idaho (destination Montana). I think they've blown off the entire west coast for now

I'm so sorry, LaLa. I'm right there with you regarding the smoke.

Can you purchase Prilosec? I was having a bout with GERD a couple of years ago, my GP prescribed Prilosec, and it was exactly the same stuff OTC.

As for the insomnia...my only suggestions are the ones I've shared with you. ZzzQuil, valerian root, or low dose Seroquel. I wish I had better suggestions.

When you sleep for the 3 hours are you able to be up for a couple of hours, then return to sleep some more?

I was angry with the pharmacy most of the day. They said they would deliver yesterday afternoon, then missed that and said today in the afternoon. They didn't get here til 7:00PM -- hardly 'the afternoon.' A bunch of bozos. They're the best of a bad lot tho.

Two emails i sent last night went unanswered and now it's the weekend so it'll be Monday before i hear anything. More anger. Feeling very ignored and disrespected.

Hugs to all who struggle, especially those effected by the wildfires.

My husband and I will be heading back to France today, but southern France and by car. I'm glad.

We highly enjoyed our visit to a Joan Miro art museum yesterday. I adore Miro's art. Plus, the views of Barcelona from the high hill location were lovely. There were also pleasant parks there with palm trees that had huge nests full of Quaker parrots. Afterwards, we ate a nice lunch at a lovely restaurant nearby.

@fern46, I have actually thought of you a few times during my trip. Something I noticed a lot of in both France and Spain were ferns. In Paris, there was a scooter taxi (almost like a motorized rickshaw) that had mini ferns on the foot platform. Many shops, windows, and gardens had ferns. I wish I had photographed the scooter, but I didn't. Attached is a glimpse of Barcelona from the hill at the Joan Miro museum.

It will be better on the other side of the mountains. Love Montana, but ginormous bears scare me.
