My family traditionally had the old-fashioned viewing service, grave-side funeral, then reception. We chose to do some things a little differently in recent years. Yes, those of the past had people laughing at jokes while socializing with relatives and friends not often seen. It always seemed sad that that was often the only time so many would get together.
Thanks. We also have the traditional viewing, grave-side then reception. I’m hoping that mums siblings stay at the church and don’t come as it’s only supposed to be 30F and there’s gonna be all that snow. So I’m hoping the octogenarians and older choose to stay at church. The cemetery is a flat expanse out in the countryside. One news source says flurries the rest say clear and cold.

I’m just dreading it cause I don’t do well with lots of people. They drain me. I know the belief is that they are there to support you. For my sisters and daughter that may be true. I know I’ll get though it. With all the recent snow some may not come so it might not be as big as I fear. My father’s was in the fall and church was packed. But that was almost 30 years ago, many have died since then and others are very old.

Kinda funny, but not really since he's originally from Vietnam, and Bang is probably not an uncommon name there. He was extremely loquacious telling me all kinds of stuff about his life. I'm a lot more private, but still had fun. In the end, he charged me less than the village hair stylist who butchered my hair the last time and did everything in 45 minutes less time than the usual 3 hours. Finding someone who can handle (with respect) my hair is like finding a secret treasure.

Thanks for saying I’ll be fine.

It's so nice that you also remember the pink stuff! Goodness, Nammu I slept in curlers when I was in high school . I had my hair styled ala Farrah Fawcett. Oh, those curlers hurt all night. Well, my precious middle sister became a hippie, too, and dared to have a career in music (rock). My parents tortured her - and they themselves were so progressive for their generation! And, yet...

And she was the black sheep, most definitely. The one the family ragged on, but secretly envied. At least she didn't have to use the pink stuff anymore

And you really will be fine Be sure to check in, I'll be lookin' fer ya.

Thanks, Tucson. Outrageous, that you were charged like that. No, a hospital cannot sue for unpaid bills here, either and they can't go on a person's credit record.

We had an entire night of wild rainstorming. Fortunately, I remembered to put little towels in the place where the wind makes the rain come in around the window. The towels were soaked this morning. 43 degrees at 10 a.m. in late February = wacky! And more to come, for days. And they're having the same crazy weather down in SoCal.

I'm very concerned about you @wildflowerchild25. I'm thinking you must be safely IP. I hope you're getting help

My hair turned out ok, but my nails are fabulous. She did such a wonderful job. I can’t stop looking at my hands. She also gave me a wonderful hand and arm massage. The nails are supposed to last for about three weeks! I’m thinking I’ll go back. I really love them.

Beth I’m sorry about your hippie sister. I bet she lived life on her terms though. Yeah, no more pink stuff! 😂

I slept in til 5:30am! It’s a miracle! The over the counter sleeping tablet definitely helped. I did wake up at 1:30 but miraculously fell asleep again. Busy drinking coffee. I deserve it.

Sleep's been crazy. No sleep one night, sleeping into 1 pm the next- like today. But that's partially because I'm at my mom's because the power was out at my place from the ice storm we had two days ago. My mom's guest room was so dark and the bed was sooooo comfy!

Am happy that your hair turned out great. You have found your treasure. Bang is a funny name, but of course when it comes from Asia it may be common.

I hope the Geodon helps, @~Christina. It served me well for a long time. I only had to go off because it eventually caused me akathisia, but that was after 5 years of taking it. Hopefully you'll never develop that.

Your doggies are all so cute. How little Gus looks compared to the others. I had to chuckle. Gus seems to like being photographed most, too.

Today is 62 damp and grey lol wacky weather this year.

I have my fingers crossed that Geodon continues to be helpful. Most meds just poop out for me eventually. At this point I’ve taken most everything but the latest new meds.

Gus is either great for the camera or gives me a shyt look and wanders off That picture is one of my favorites and it took forever to get a halfway decent pic together LOL

I’m so glad you found a good stylist !

How close are you getting into your home?! Sure it can’t get here fast enough.

82 and full sun yesterday. Today 62 damp and grey ! I’m sure next week we will be freezing again.

I’m TB test came back negative. Not that I was concerned about it. So now my Rheumatologist’s office can file a request to my insurance to cover Skyrizi. I really hope it works quick and no bad side effects.

Something rather random. When I worked that job at the gas station both my big toenails turned purple, blue and black from my foot sliding in my shoe I guess. Well my entire right toenail just fell off !! I know it’s not the end of the world but ..I have always kept my feet and nails cute and polished and now ?! It’s so ugly. I’m waiting for the other nail to fall off. I know it’s silly but I’m really upset over it. It’s going to take a loooong time to grow back out. #endrant/whine.

Hugs !

I have to dye my hair at home tomorrow to cover the greys. Natural colour dark brown. Going to throw a trash bag with holes cut out for the arms and body over my head. I should probably buy an art smock. I hate getting brown dye everywhere. I usually put it on outside so any mess can go over the floor. Still stains my skin in the wrong places though. I wish I could get it done at the hair dresser but it’s become so expensive to do a root touch up there. Well over $100.

Because of aqua fitness I stopped coloring my hair( dye and chlorine don’t mix) Today when I got my hair cut the stylist complimented me on going natural and said it looks very good. My natural color was auburn but all the reds turned grey, so it’s brown and grey. I have more grey than mum ever did.

That sounds absolutely terrible. I feel so bad for you. Isn't it painful? Taking biotin has helped my nails grow after I had acrylic nails removed.

Oh, that sounds perfectly appropriate, Nammu. You'll look smart. I find that if I feel confident about my presentation ("put together") it's easier for me to accept support from people.

I had a rather confusing and irritating end to my week. The lawyers I saw for a disability claim gave me an ultimatum to get a form them by the end of the day or risk them dropping the claim. The confusing part? They made it abundantly clear I didn't qualify for disability because of the income from my job, but I received several calls from the law office haranguing me for forms to continue the claim. What's irritating is that they never called me with any kind of game plan. They have kept the disability claim open for no real reason that was communicated to me.

Ended up working through my lunch and an hour over at work today. On the plus side, it was a productive day! On the minus, I'll have to powwow with my boss about not getting my lunch break (labor laws and the like). And I'm exhausted!!
