I have never even heard of magic realism. How did you first become a writer in this genre?!

I took two naps today. One in the early afternoon and the other in the late afternoon. Between them and the night, I spent 13 hours 8 mins in bed. We had a week off at work. On Tuesday, back to work and things will get really busy. I know that my manager expected me to find a solution to the excessive sleep need issue over the break l, but I have not made any progress. I am afraid of returning to work on Tuesday.

I can relate to your bizarre sleep schedule. I go to bed around 11:30PM every night, wake up at 2:30AM, go back to bed at 5:30AM, wake up around 7:30AM, go back to bed around 3PM and wake up around 5:30PM. I am INCAPABLE of sleeping more than three to four hours at a time. It's so frustrating 😫.

Anyway, so good luck. I hope everything works out.

Between 2:30 and 5:30 AM, is it when you write flash fiction?

No. That's when I write in my journal. I do my creative writing between 5:30PM and 11:30PM, though I have done creative writing in the early morning before.

I will consider using the time I am awake during the night to write in my journal and record my dreams. I have lately been having very insightful dreams.

I finally gave up on my vegetarian diet. It wasn't doing anything for me besides causing me to restrict and causing headaches for my family when we would try to decide where and what to eat. I also read it can cause anxiety and depression and yeah I've been dealing with that. So I ate a burger for lunch and I feel like I've legit eaten in a couple months. I'll probably still be a flexitarian.

Today I was doing good until I took my AM topamax. Then I got anxious. Now I'm somewhere in between being ok and needing my last valium. But I'm not franticly anxious the way I was before I ate. Mood wise I've been ok

Now I have this weird sort of feeling of calmness and peacefullness and I don't feel all on edge. Its like a sorta high feeling.

Did not eating meat mess me up that much?

Still getting used to my new phone. Going to my mom’s this evening. Bought sparkling juice as I can’t drink alcohol. Bought some Ben and Jerry’s “The Tonight Dough” ice cream for when Caleb is here on Saturday. I haven’t had any for about a year!

I record my dreams every night. You should definitely do that. Everything creative I write is based off of dreams I've had.

I'm vegetarian (was vegan, but started eating yogurt again). I haven't eaten any meat in ten years. The thought of eating meat repulses me now. I went through a phase where I thought I'd start eating eggs again, but it didn't last long because I thought they were gross. And I had a couple bites of quiche over Christmas to make my husband's mom happy, so I had eggs and cheese (it was gross. I don't like cheese either).

I wouldn't think not eating meat would mess you up that much. Are you taking a multivitamin? I'd recommend taking a multivitamin.

Everyone is different though.

I'm not taking a multivitamin. I tried to but it didn't agree with me for some reason. Just all day yesterday and this morning were super rough and then after the burger and 45 minutes of using my VR I've felt great both physically and mentally.

I don't know my iron numbers but I think the last time I asked they were ok. My Vitamin D numbers were pretty low and I can't tolerate the pill form so I was told to drink milk instead to boost my Vitamin D levels and my energy levels.

This is the iron pill I take: https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/wa...253475-product

It does not mess up your GI tract.

But I donate blood as frequently as is allowed, so I must supplement with iron. I am just showing to you that there is a form of iron that would agree with your system if you wanted to try supplementation. There are other forms of iron that are rough on the GI tract.

I did not realize that one can react badly to vitamin D3 pills. I have been taking them for many years even though I eat plenty of yogurt and drink plenty of milk.

I've been taking CBD, I'm taking it twice a day now. I'm really not sure if it's helping.

I'm still having anxious and intrusive thoughts and find it difficult to sit still and concentrate. None of these symptoms are new, they've been happening for ages.

Sad and alone on New Year's Eve, binge drinking (coke zero. Don't worry. Lol!), eating chips and hanging out with the cats. Husband is at work and daughter is at his mom's house. No one wants to hang out with me because I don't drink and party (I'm 41 years old for Pete's sake! My partying days are long over).

Managed to get my fat *** in the shower again, so that's good.

I'm really not as dejected as I may sound. Lol. I'm having a good night just chilling.

Happy New Year's everyone!

2024 is going to be an awesome year.

Maybe you just need to eat meat then.

Out of curiosity, what were you eating when you weren't eating meat? What was your diet?

(Sorry. I'm just trying to figure out why not eating meat would mess you up that much. Like I said, I haven't had any in a decade now, with no problems.)

Ending my year in a rather fun financial situation.

There's a mobile app that my work uses to show earnings for my shifts and lets me withdraw up to 50% of those earnings as soon as the next morning, even on weekends and holidays. I use it quite a bit as it allows me to spread out utility bills, bill payments, and various and sundry expenses over the week.

Anyway, my Saturday shift has not been recorded. No sign of my earnings even being there let alone available for withdrawal. Considering Saturday is the end of my work week (as well as the company's work week) and a holiday weekend, I've got issues. The app might work 24/7, but customer service has taken off for the holiday weekend. So have the higher ups at my company.

ALSO (nothing like a one-two punch), my bank (and banking app) aren't recording my transactions properly or in a timely manner. I pay with my debit card and the banking app should record the transaction right away. Same principle for direct deposits. Weekends and holidays. The system didn't acknowledge several charges until several hours later and, more importantly, a deposit I made on Saturday until today. Led to some awkward interactions at the grocery store. Again, the app runs 24/7, but customer service gets their holiday.

Which, good for them, but you'd think they'd have an "emergency line" of sorts. There's a very real chance nearly $100 is missing and I've got to wait two days to get it all sorted!
