I've had trouble with my vision all day. Thats why theres been so many typos in my post

Now I've had a headache for 3 hours in addtion to the blurry vison.

But I'm not smelling burn toast. So its not anything like that

I could just be tired.

Turns out papi had a huge glob of hair wrapped around his male parts and that’s what was causing him pain. The vet removed it for me. She said she’s seen it in dogs before but never in cats

@bluebird I am so happy for you! That sounds so painful but also so much better than urine crystals. Poor kitty.

I've been praying for both of you. I hope you are able to get some rest tonight. I've been through a night at the emergency vet years ago and it was so much adrenaline that I had a hard time settling for a while after I got home.

Thank you that means a lot to me! Yeah it’s 11:20pm now so I’ll probably be home around midnight. I dont anticipate any sleep tonight. But am still relieved

My sister said I made a “snap” decision with bringing papi to the vet like it was a bad thing. Like I know it’s expensive but he was in pain very vocally crying and hissing and growling at me. What was I supposed to do just let him suffer? No.

@Blue_Bird you did the right thing. If it was urine crystals you don't get that long before they can die from it.And regardless if he's in pain you have to do something. I think when we commit to a pet we commit to them in sickness and in health and we owe them what it takes to be healthy. Just my view but it's gotten me through a few expensive cats in the past.

Yeah I agree. It’s worth it, he’s home and happy now and feeling a lot better now that he’s not in pain, I’m relieved that it was a quick fix and that he’ll be okay. I honestly thought he was dying the way he was howling out in pain when grooming himself and hissing and growling. He doesn’t hiss or growl normally. It’s completely uncharacteristic of him. He’s back to being his big orange happy Garfield self now

Next step is to get him neutered in the next month or so. I just have to rebuild my savings first cause this emergency visit wiped out my income. His previous owner didn’t have him neutered and he needs his shots too. So that’s next up for him in I’d say October.

You absolutely did the right thing taking him in, Blue_Bird. There could have been a number of things wrong and he was obviously quite distressed. So glad he's settling back to his old self. He'll have forgotten all about his ordeal by the morning time!

Yeah, @Blue_Bird. Even if it was a "snap decision," there are situations that only have "snap decisions" as an option, like this one and other (potential) emergencies. It wasn't at all reckless or dangerous, it was helping another life and making things more comfortable for him and making sure it wasn't something life-threatening.

I don't know if this is something available where you are, but our local humane society does reduced cost vet care and has a spay/neuter day for cats on Tuesdays. It's $150 for a neuter (with cone included), rabies and distemper vaccine, and even microchipping if you want. Way cheaper than a regular vet.

I fell asleep at about 11:30 and I struggled with waking up but I finally did at 7:15. I still had a bad headache so I took 2 Tylenlol, and a caffeine pill and that got rid of it.

My anxiety is ok today. My stomach is fine. I've figured out that yogurt is the main thing that keeps everything ok. Especially Yoplait Smooth yogurt.

I don't have any plans. Just continue to chug along.

@Blue Bird today is national ginger cat appreciaton day

Feeling much better today. L and K texted that they are on their way back so I have to go move my car. They let me use their parking spot while they were at a cabin. Because I was sick yesterday I missed out on the grocery deals. Sooooo I’ll go tomorrow and just pick up milk.

Everyone in USA have a good Labor Day.

I too have gained weight on Risperdal. I’m pre-diabetic as well. But it’s a good mood stabilizer.

I gained 10 pounds in 3 weeks! My A1C was 5.5 before. Now it’s 5.9 which is prediabetes. Risperdal sucks! I’m glad I got off it almost 2 weeks ago.

Risperdal was my miracle drug until they messed up the injection dose and gave me 50 instead of 25 and I tripped for two weeks. Thought I was breaking into apartments in Lowell, MA, sailing across the Atlantic, drinking in the city I lived in at the time with the sister that went AWOL when I was 13. Snowing cocaine that ants would get high off of it, got lost in a labyrinth. That was a wild two weeks that felt like either 5 minutes or 5 decades. Now even a .5mg pill will have me thinking I forgot eating psilocybin mushrooms.

@MuddyBoots yeah they have that around here as well, I plan on getting him neutered at that same place I got Mustachio spayed at. It was reduced for people who have lower income

Good morning/afternoon. I just woke up around 1pm, that is the latest I’ve ever slept. I’m normally up by 5 or 6 , 9 at the latest. I didn’t end up going to sleep till around 1:30am after we got home.

So I missed my morning meds today cause I slept too late to take them but that’s okay, I’ll get back on track tomorrow

I've had a very productive morning. I slept in until 10 am. Even though it's only 11:50 am, I've already finished the lesson planning I wanted to get done and finished cleaning my apartment. It's amazing how much easier it is to get stuff done when you're not horribly depressed.

I'm hoping that, even though it's Labor Day, the store that has the water bottle I want/said I'd reward myself with if I cleaned my entire apartment will be open so I can go buy it. I also have an amazon package there I'd like to pick up.

Good morning everyone!

It’s Tuesday here. Hoping to get by with no benzos today. My classes are alright so that helps. Just need to muster up the energy to get up out of bed and get dressed for the day. Tired.
