Fair warning to everyone - I'm climbing up on the pity pot for the rest of the day!

I can not seem to shake this dammed bug! Yes, I'm better than I was a few weeks ago, but still feel like crap. I had to wrestle the dog off a gopher tortoise this morning. I ended up wheezing and gasping for breath leaning against the side of the barn.

Was looking forward to getting some stuff done around the house and farm while I'm off for the next two weeks. All I seem to be able to do is park on my arse.

This is so small of me.... a friend was supposed to come for a few days for Christmas. I've been really looking forward to her coming. She called a few nights ago to say she's not sure she can come. Read that to mean she will not be coming. The reason is that she hurt her knee and doesn't think she can drive. Thing is, every time we plan something she ends up cancelling. I understand she didn't hurt herself intentionally. I understand that she will also be home alone on Christmas, but still.... stuck home alone on Christmas.

Back when family was still alive I used to dread the holidays. Stressed filled days interacting with people I didn't particularly care for. We shared DNA so we had to share the holidays. Now, there's no family. It's me, the cats and the dog. Love my critters, but it's not the same. I'm really missing my Mom this holiday season. The last few years of her life it was just the two of us. The holidays were fun and low stress. Mainly I just miss her though.

Okay, I've given myself permission to camp on the pity pot today. Tomorrow I have to get up and get on with life.

((((( Liz )))))

I'm so sorry you will be alone for Christmas. I'm also so sorry you miss your Mom. I'd give anything for another Christmas with mine, so I understand.

I am with you Liz. I still have my kids and hubby but this year we did not put up a tree due to all the construction. On top of that my grandmother and uncle are going away my grandmother does not want to be home for the holidays since my dad died last year well neither do I.

I had a melt down the other night and slept on the couch. All that got me was 2 cats fighting to see who could sleep on me which ment no sleep for me then hubby brings his friend over that he nows I do not like so I stayed in my room this morning he went and got the friend again to help out I just want to scream. I just wish everyone would leave me alone

Cake, you didn't "take it out" on anyone here. You said something you needed to say. I've certainly done enough of the same myself lately.

Is it wrong to hold your hubby's nose while he is asleep and snoring ? Or what about flicking him ? Can you tell I could not sleep last night

Cake, I'd shake his shoulder and then pretend I was asleep!

What about a pillow over his face?

I used to shake hubby's shoulder to get him to roll over when he snored.

blah - am sick with some stomach bug. sick sick. no festive foods for me. Actually I think that's what got me... the festive foods at the potluck we had on the 18th. Going to throw out the remaining mashed potatoes and gravy. Feel flu-like, but that's just the fibro fun of getting a nasty bug.
I hope you are all faring better than I and will have good holidays. Jan and I will be in the sick corner, instead at the kiddy table.
Cheers!

I'm here. I have to call the Dr. tomorrow because my feet have mysteriously swollen double. I can barely shuffle in my tennis shoes and it hurts to walk in them. Is this part of fibro?

Present. Fighting a cold. Over the stomach virus from last week. Tired. Still in the depression, but not as low. Yay Zoloft. I thought my psych nurse was joking when she said "I think you now have Depression." I laughed. She didn't. HELLO, I've been dealing with depression since I was a kid! This was a severe depressive episode.
When I told my MD, she looked at me the same way I looked at the pnurse.
Anywho, it's cold and wet here. We did have some snow, but it's gone. As is my 'get up and go'. Slept 12 hours and could have slept all day. Should make myself go to bed soon so I can be at my 11am tomorrow.
wishing you all the best, get better, feel better, get rest, and lots of hugs!
