I have not felt good for so long. I fight Fibromyalgi, MS, Spinal Stenisis and now being checked for a blood disease because my red and white counts are extremely elevated. I ask for prayers that it is not that. Thank you. I am just waiting for the pathology reports. ((Hugs))) to all. Sorry to those of you who are hurting right now.

My goodness ~Christina, you had a hell of a trip. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hate when all the body aches from something like that happening, it's just uggh. It doesn't surprise me that you are more sore the next day, that's usually how soft tissue bruises and muscle strains usually go. I'm glad you only broke your boob though, the last time I fell I broke a finger and my elbow and severely sprained my ankle/foot. I would have been much happier with only a broken boob.

Be good to yourself dear....rest and relaxate yourself!

twighlightsky, you are in my prayers and I'm sending you good and positive thoughts for a good outcome of your blood tests!

trav, so glad the cymbalta is helping your fibro, I got good relief from it for a number of years before needing an extra kick with it, doc put me on lyrica which has made a huge difference along with the cymbalta.

Darned weather fronts!

I usually have some pain and difficulties when weather fronts come through but dang....this one set off a heck of a flair!

From my hips down to my knees and ankles, swelling, pain, inability to move or walk well. Good grief, give it up already!! Couldn't sleep very well last night either. Went to bed at 2am and was up at 7am. Highly unusual for me to be up that early, but I just couldn't lie in that bed anymore. UGGGGHHH

Pain is up to about a 7-8 which is very unusual for me especially since starting the lyrica on top of the cymbalta. It's been a great combination for me for the most part.

Since it's dreary with rain/sleet/snow today I just want to curl up in a ball comfortably. Don't think that's going to be happening anytime soon.

I hope everyone else is doing well though. This stuff ain't for the faint of heart!

THanks so much ~Christina!

I ended up sitting in my rocker-recliner in the afternoon and was watching tv with my roommate. As so often happens, I will fall asleep for a nap. It ended up being a 4 1/2 hour nap!

I felt so disoriented when I woke up and I couldn't even cook dinner. I wasn't even hungry at the time. I felt bad for my roommate as I'm sure she was starving by that point.

The bad weather has passed except now we have howling cold winds. But, the pain has reduced considerably for which I am thankful. I just need to find a way to get moving soon.

This a Rant !

I spent 48 hours IP regular hospital for severe abdominal pain vomiting and diarreha to the point of severe dehydration. Saw my GP he sent me direct admit.

One nurse trying to start an IV , yeah super dehydrated sure go dig around for a vein in 10 places , yes 10 feels great , thanks ! Meanwhile the Hospital Doctor is asking history current and past surgeries etc normal typical questions hows my pain ? poking and prodding me , I was in tears and agony, but he must poke around.. then he asked me to please describe the pain, Okay no problem , then he asked for current meds and diagnosis.. When I got to the " I have Fibro and I have Bipolar .. there was an absolute change in his treatment, I do believe he took a step back , as if me being curled in a fetal position is going to all at once make me to go battshiut crazy jump off the bed and harm him ? My blood pressure at that point was 58/36 and heart rate of 138 , sure signs of dehydration.

I am so tired of "Doctors" dismissing my pain level or my whole reason for seeking medical help just because of Fibro and Bipolar. My Bipolar nor Fibro caused me to vomit and diareha to the point of severe dehydration.

I was extremely dehydrated , beyond pale and even my Gp was shocked that I could even get to his office . I had no options.

The Doctor starts to tell the nurse to check for flu, okay sure make sense since this years shot is pretty much useless. Rattles off the full bloodwork and Zofran for nausea. and turns to leave, I said what about my pain? I am unable to even stand up straight. he said well I'm not sure you need pain meds I said you must have missed that training in med school that a patients pain must be treated. He finally relented and said he would allow "some morphine"

WTF ? really ?

Why are so many Doctors and medical professionals so horribly uneducated in fibro and bipolar???? This Doctor was a D1ck plain and simple .

I requested to be discharged late today because I was tired of the treatment, all tests came back "normal" , YAY I am happy , no flu or Cdiff, etc . So tossed me in the Gastroendonitis diagnosis , fine whatever. Now I am home is severe pain and just plain pissed about it all .. My Blood pressure is still too low , I am able to keep fluids down and I will just have to wait this out. I see my GP on Monday and go from there , hopefully I will be fine by then.

There is no excuse for being treated this way !

It is sad when even a Dr. Treats you with so much disrespect.
I hope you are feeling better..

Oh ~Christina I'm so sorry this happened to you. *sigh*

I do hope you are feeling better very soon. It's no fun getting that dehydrated, everything hurts when that happens, been there done that, even my hair hurt!

I have a rule for myself that if someone cannot get a line into a vein by the 3rd try, I demand someone else try it. Luckily enough, it's not happened often to me.

Rest dear one and try to breathe.

Christina, it's sad that docs take that attitude. Have had it happen myself. They are going down the list of medical conditions and get to fibro and their whole demeanor changes. Pisses me off big time. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

I spoke to my T today about how I was treated once the dreaded Fibro and Bipolar was on the table.. he told me to just not disclose. So that is my plan from this point onward..

Saw my regular GP yesterday he was livid that I was treated so terrible. He said he will be calling the hospital Doctor.

Yeah In the future , I'm going to just shut up and complain about with out the Fibro shadow that somehow "they" assume we are just drug seeking.

It's just horrible ! I am still feeling lousy, to be honest, was a hell of a virus.. so I need to just wait it out.

Thanks for the support ladies

Sorry to hear that (((((( Liz )))))) Sure hope you are better soon.

The past few days I've pushed myself to do more than I knew I should do. I had a lot of baking and shopping to do last minute.

I'm hurting so much now that I think I might just go to bed and cry myself to sleep, if sleep is even possible....*sigh*

Here's to a better New Year!

I was dx'd with fibro a few months ago, although I knew I had it a long time ago. I ache all over and mornings are a nightmare. The rhuemy treats me for Sjogrens, but not the fibro. The best I've been able to come up with is generic Excedrin in the morning. It seems to help, but I worry about putting tylenol in my body when I already have liver issues.

Right now I am tired, achy and my right knee hurts and feels swollen. Does anyone else have this problem? My knee has been this sore for days and I can no longer get in and out of my recliner.

Thanks,

Jan

(((((((((((((( Jan )))))))))))))))

Yes, my knees, especially my left one give me lots of grief with feeling swollen and aching. Many times it doesn't look swollen but it feels like it is.

You should talk to your GP about the one Excedrin in the morning and your liver issues. I would think that it may be okay, but since I'm not a doctor, I could be very wrong.

I know you have issues with meds and some of them don't treat you well at all. I'm on Cymbalta and Lyrica. The Lyrica has helped a lot but when a weather front passes through, nothing really helps. Are you experiencing any low pressure weather or expecting some any time soon? That could be one reason why your knee is acting up.

Do you have a walker by any chance? It may help you get in and out of your recliner much easier. When getting into the recliner, keep your knee straight and use the walker to give you the leverage you need to sit in the chair.

The same for getting up out of the chair, try to keep your knee straight and lean on the walker to help lift you out of the chair. Just be careful.

Oh, another thing about the swelling knee....ice 20 minutes/heat 20 minutes. You may find the swelling goes down and the pain reduces if you do this a few times a day.

The weather has been changing day to day with different fronts. You're so right about my knee. It feels swollen, but it isn't.

I don't have a walker. I do have a four prong cane. Do you think that would help?

Do your feet hurt with sharp pains?

I go back to the rheumy in Jan. and I'll tell her about all of this. I don't know if Lyrica or Cymbalta can be added to my mix of meds.

Thank you for answering me, dearheart!

Sure, you can try it with a 4 pronged cane. It may be a bit more difficult not having as large an area to lean on but it could work!

Yes, my feet hurt sometimes too. Give them a good soak in some epsom salts and warm water, that may help. If nothing else they will be clean and smelling fine.

Good to tell your doc about the issues...I hope he can find something to help you my friend!

Did y'all see this article in the current events forum?

Yoga May Benefit Heart as Much as Aerobics | Psych Central News

I heard the tag end of news story about it on TV and wanted to learn more. The article says that yoga can have the same physical benefits of aerobic exercise!

I struggle with the opposing recommendations of rest for CFS and mild exercise for fibro. Combine that with my PCP telling me I need to do aerobics because of my cholesterol level. I'm excited about this. I can do yoga. I enjoy yoga. It's good for my mind as well as my body.

We are to have a 30 degree drop in temps today. It's raining and it may turn to snow. I ache all over.

Do your teeth ache so much that it's hard to eat anything but soft foods? I'm wondering if this is fibro. It just started a couple weeks ago.

Thanks!

My teeth ache because they need dental care.

No, I've never noticed my teeth aching from fibro, but I do get facial pain at times, usually involving my jaws and cheeks. I believe as well that it sometimes denotes a migraine at times. And rarely but now and again, if my sugars are too high my face can ache. *sigh* I just hope that my face doesn't make others ache.

It's important to remember hon that when you are having a fibro moment, do your best to relax and do nothing at all. Sometimes forcing yourself to move and do things that are painful to do can exacerbate the fibro and make the pain last longer than it would have if you did nothing.

As an example, in order for me to do my laundry, I have to pack it up go down 14 stairs, walk a short distance to the laundry room (outside), put my laundry in the dryer and walk back up 14 stairs. There are some days when I just cannot do that. That would be 3 times walking down and up the stairs and carrying 1 or 2 loads of laundry 2 times. So, on those days, I don't push myself. I may not have my normal clean laundry that I wear but I've always got something to get into (stuff I wouldn't wear out).

We're having nasty weather here. We got about 3-4 inches of snow, then it sleeted for a time and then turned to freezing rain. My legs are screaming today. And guess what.....I have to do laundry....

Take care of yourself my dear friend....you deserve it!
