Cake,

Wow, I am so sorry you went through such a scary ordeal. I'm glad you are up and about albeit with more unwanted pain

I feel for you... I don't know how you manage with RA and Lupus on top of Fibro, You are a true warrior

No ,I am not any better, I am trying to stay hopeful that I will be able to sleep for 23 hours but... This is a rodeo I have been in more times than I can count.. So... ugh I know how this could continue to play out. *sigh* The pain +Insomnia+Bipolar = a nitemare that can put me in a bad place quickly.

Thanks for being so kind ! I hope you begin feeling better minute by minute. Please take very good care of yourself

Christina, I'm so sorry you are struggling right now. Please take care of yourself, even if it means having to go IP again. Kudos to you for recognizing you are in a bad place. I've known so many in your position who swore they were "fine."

Cakeladie, I'm concerned that you were staring ahead and unresponsive when your husband found you. Did you hit your head? Could you have a concussion? Or is it possible you had a seizure?

Glad to hear you called your doc.

Krissy is being a good boy and being quiet. He seems to finally be on the mend.

The nurse does not seem to concerned which surprised me. I am going to take it easy and see what happens. I have appointments already lined up with my neuro doctor and my cardio doctor (lupus has hit my heart, lungs, kidneys and central nervous system) and I see the rhemy next month but I have to go to her office on Monday to get my prescriptions.

I will snuggle up with Sunny the cat. He always seems to know when I am not feeling well.

LizardLady - I am glad he is behaving and I hope Krissy gets well soon.

Christina are you ok?

Kiya - thank you

Hey

Thanks everyone. I am ready to throw in the towel at this point.. The other night after I posted this I started getting sick..... Food poisening ! Like really? I must have pissed off the entire universe apparently.

*sigh*

I have Zofran and Pheregren from a hospital stay last year.. I know its helpful, but I am still in bad shape. I have still been unable to sleep at all.

If things do not improve over the next 12 hours I will probably go to the ER.. for this physicaly illness.

Thank you are for your concern.. Hope you guys are taking great care of yourselves

Remind me to never try to sleep in a tent in cold weather again. I was at my step sisters birthday out of town and I wasn't feeling too cold and had been drinking so figured I'd fall asleep pretty quickly.. I was so wrong.
I spent the entire night wrapped in blankets, freezing cold, aching all over and trying not to cry. I just laid there waiting for morning.
I'm limping about today and my bursitis in my shoulder has gotten worse again, probably a bad idea trying (and succeeding) to crack a whip last night.

I just want to lay in a hot bath and cry.

They are using something called Bio-Freeze Gel on my leg and foot in physical therapy. It gives the tissue a deep coldness that really helps. I just thought that it would really help with fibro if you could reach the areas where it hurts the most. It costs $10 at the PT clinic. I'll try to remember to ask the therapist tomorrow if it would help, but I know it would feel good. A hot shower doesn't seem to help me.When you put it on, you have to wear latex gloves or it will freeze your hands.

Jan, you can buy the Wal-Mart version of BioFreeze at Wal-Mart. I works great on sore muscles.

Jan, I started to get what I call a "fibro headache" today at work. I broke out the Wal-Mart brand version of BioFrezze and used it on my neck/back of my head. It did a great job of lessening the headache.

What a wonderful idea! I'll have to get some, Liz. I talked to my physical therapist and he said it would help wherever the fibro hurt. I imagine it sure can't hurt.

Do you wear a glove when you put your kind of BioFreeze on your neck? Thank you so much for telling me about that.

January the ones I use are called lidocaine patch 5%. You can cut them and turn one patch into 2 patches to cover more areas but you can use up to 3 patches at once and boy do they help. You can only keep them on for 12 hours. 12 hours on and 12 hours off.

I am going to get some of the biofrezze to because my fibro headaches have been really bad and my doctor talked about doing injections into my shoulders and neck and I do not like the idea of a needle in my neck.

Good luck tomorrow.

Well, there is some good news... My insurance won't cover the lidocaine patches. However, it will cover a pain med that I can take up to twice a day, prn. She told me not to take it every day if I can possibly help it. I've never heard of it.

I've been having a lot of pain in my hand where I fell when I broke my leg and I thought it was fibro or arthritis of some kind. She told me it's deep tissue damage and will take a lot of time to heal. So, that's good news. At least it will heal eventually.

She said the next step is a pain clinic and I told her I don't want to go there. I'm afraid of that. What do you all think?

Hugs to everyone!

Jan, Biofreeze and the store brand come in a roll-on container. No need for gloves because you don't get it on your hands applying it. I also use it on my various joints that have arthritis. It helps for that too.

Deep tissue/soft tissue injuries are - sorry bad pun - a pain to heal. They take forever!

I have some lidocaine patches I use on specific areas if they get really painful from fibro, but my pdoc said they aren't any good for the whole body pain.

Thank you, Liz. That makes a world of sense. I'll try to get some roll on Bio-Freeze. That sounds nice.

The pain med doesn't work, so I won't be taking it again. It was worth a try. I guess I'll make another appt. with the rheumy.

My doctor managed to find me a different rheumatologist about an hour and a half away, and I've got an appointment at the end of July. Much better than December.
I'm stressing about it a bit..I don't want to wait two months, travel, and fork out money I don't have for no reason. He's probably going to be useless and not do anything.

Sorry Bubbles I feel bad that so many people have to travel far to get the care they need.

January, my insurance company first denied me the pain patches and my rhemy had to put in a special request for them. With the special request they finely approved them. I do not use them everyday just when I can't stand the pain anymore and the pain meds and muscle relaxers are not working.

I am going to try the bio freeze. I use heating pads, hot rice packs or a relief wrap which can be heated or you can put in the freezer.

I take so many meds for the lupus that when I can try something other then that it's good.

Take care everyone

Sending healing vibes to everyone.

I'm supposed to be going to a mates for some drinks tonight and I have no idea how I'm going to manage that. I've been up for less than three hours and I'm already exhausted and just laying hidden under a blanket on the couch.
If I do go I'll be drinking and then I'll have to sleep on her couch and I know it'll leave me hurting tomorrow.
I don't know what to do. I'm just so tired.

I have some gel bio-freeze, also, but it makes me so cold I only use it when I'm about to crawl into bed with a heating pad. Which may be soon
PT has been going a bit better and there is less numbness in the left side of my body. But the pain in the right shoulder is a 7 on a "good day" and is currently growing.... I've talked with the PT about it but they only believe exercise and education will help..... I have a knot below the shoulder blade the size of a neck vertebrate. I don't know how to loosen it. I suggested massage, which they don't do there, and she said "well, it may feel good, but it wouldn't do anything." I could just cry, it hurts so bad and radiates down my arm. I use tennis balls on it against the wall, anti-inflammatories, massage it myself, use the bio-freeze.... HELP! Please

I am sorry Kiya, I am glad PT is going a little better. My doctor and I have talked about me going or having someone come to the house but I am just so unsure about it.

I have been working on a sewing project for my uncle and the last two days I am in so much pain. My uncle called and told me to stop. the shirts will be fine. I am a perfectionist when it comes to something like that. I could keep working on them forever but my body will not let me it's frustrating.

Bubbles if I was in your shoes I would stay home and take care of yourself.

I can't take it now, but in the past, I used to take a dose of Excedrin with a Pepsi and it helped me feel a lot better. As I said, I can't do it now because it cross reacts with another med I'm taking, but maybe you all could take it. It's worth trying, and you can buy some generic excedrin at the Dollar Store for very little.

I'm so sorry you all are in such pain. If I could, I would take it away from you.
