I got little sleep last night and what I got wasn't restful. I need another cortizone shot in my hip. I go back to the rhuemy next month. I don't know if she'll do just the one hip or both, but she gives the easiest cortizone shots I've ever had. I've never had cortizone in my shoulders but they feel like they need the shots, too. Does anyone know if they do cortizone shots in a person's shoulders?

I'll take my cheese with my whine now, please.

Love to all!

January- I'm not sure what your shots are for, but I've had a cortisone injection into my shoulder for Bursitis. So technically in my Bursa. But if they can do that I'm sure they can do other types in the shoulder too...

Cake- 7GB is a lot! She's obviously watching videos or downloading stuff. If she accidentally did it once that'd be okay, but doing it and then not even admitting fault is ridiculous! I'd make her pay for her own phone and maybe she'll be more responsible! How old is she?

She just turned 19. I hear it's the age

Jan they are only supposed to give you a shot in one area at a time. When I get my hips done they do one hip then a week or so later the other hip. And they can do shoulders and necks and elbows etc.

My doctor is really good at the shots to. She numbs the area really good first.

They gave me shots in both hips, but they numbed them really well. Of course, I broke down and was crying from the pain and they had never heard me so much as complain before so maybe they took mercy on me. The hips will have to come first and then the shoulders, if they will do them. I used to have a rheumy that didn't numb me and scraped my hip bones on purpose. To say the least, I do not want to go to him anymore.

If your daughter is 19 she's old enough to be responsible or get a job to pay her own phone bill. I had a paying job when I was fourteen. Deactivate it if you don't want her working. Lessons come hard in life. She might as well start learning. I don't mean to sound mean.

My doctor numbs the area real good to.

My daughter does work part time and she goes to school. She is supposed to pay her bill but I have always done it since she is in school making good grades. But we are cutting her off because of her boyfriend. She used to have a good savings account etc until she met this boy. I guess we all have made mistakes like this so we will see if she comes to her senses. She has to show us her grades etc. it's really sad because we used to do everything together now it's all about him and his mom.

Your docs numb you before they do cortisone shots!?!?!?!? I got a shot in my elbow years ago for tendinitis. The dang shot hurt more than the tendinitis! I passed out it hurt so much. Years later another doc wanted to give me a cortisone shot in the same elbow for the same reason. I told him I wanted to lay down while he did it. He thought I was a weenie. I figured I was less likely to pass out if I was laying down.

Cake, I'm with the others. Given the way your daughter is acting and how irresponsible she is being with the phone I would shut it off. You said it's part of a four phone plan. I believe you can have service to just one phone on a plan cancelled.

Jan, I have very nice smoked Gouda cheese I'd be glad to share.

Thanks for the kind words Bubbles. Frankly I don't know how I'm doing it. One foot in front of the other I guess. Not doing anymore middle of the night medicating. Told the vet yesterday that I have to be able to sleep.

Liz the doc numbs it to the point that the spray is running down my leg. I feel nothing. Same thing when she does my elbows etc.

Yep it's going to be tough love with her. I am sitting here trying to type this while being attacked by an orange fur ball with teeth

I haven't. I sure hope she's doing better. ((((( Christina )))))

Liz, you don't feel anything when you get cortizone shots now. It's amazing! I've never had one in the elbow but the ones in the hips don't hurt with this new Dr.

Hey everyone. Thanks so much for the concern. I haven't posted much here as I feel like an old vinyl record that is scratched, I just skip screech and skip screech again over and over. *sigh* I am going to try the "fake it til ya make it " approach, starting tomorrow, I am too wore out to attempt it tonight

Gentle hugs everyone.. Please take good care of yourselves

Follow up appointment with my rheumy tomorrow to get all my results and decide where to go from there. My dad is busy so I'll be driving there and back.
Apparently my body knows I have to drive four hours tomorrow because it feels like it's trying to shut down.
So much effing pain.

The temp dropped over 20 degrees plus it's raining so I ache all over and my foot and leg especially hurt. This too, shall pass, right?

I have to go to the dentist today and go grocery shopping afterwards and I hope I feel a lot better by then. I like the cool temps., just the sudden drop makes my body feel like someone jumped up and down on it.

I'll have some more cheese with my whine please.

My acupuncture appointment didn't give me super hero energy like last time
My pain is increased, especially in the two tendinitis areas I asked her to work on.
The powers that be are dragging on my pt renewal grrrr.
Perhaps it is also the change in weather that got me.
I also got a new cat- very inquisitive- that's wearing me out. You know that sensation of "I'm so tired, it physically hurts"? That was me today - konked out from 5p to 8p.
Cat has, too. Dreaming away.

How's everyone feeling?
Anyone been doing anything fun and exciting?

I've been pretty exhausted since my rheumy appointment. Turns out I've also got some inflammatory arthritis in my hands and a blood test showed up something so I have to have more to check what it is.

He's got me on more meds. I hate taking them but if they help I guess it'll be worth it.

I had an asthma attack swimming tonight. I have been trying to swim and pushing myself. I have lost weight which is awesome since I am on so much pred but tonight I really did not want to go in but my hubby looked disappointed so I went in and after 30 minutes had to call for help because I could not breath. Then when I got that under control I spent the next 45 minutes in the bathroom and I am running a 101 fever. So which flare is it lupus or fibro or both.

We have a getaway planned for me and my husband to Yosemite next weekend. I just hope I am feeling ok or at least I can fake it so that he has a good time.

Other then that our big trip is planned for November and Disneyworld.

I am tired thinking about everything that needs to be done.

Hugs to everyone

Bubbles what has them concerned on your blood work if you don't mind me asking

I'm on Cymbalta and Lyrica and I feel sooo much better. I can hold my phone up for awhile without pain. Exercise is rough but I'm hoping if I keep pushing through it that I will get stronger and the pain will lessen.

Awww Cake I am so sorry that happened in the pool .. Very scarey.

I hope that your feeling better and able to make your trip enjoyable. Disney is exhausting but really fun and memories that will last. My Daughter took me to Universal in Orlando 3 years ago when I went to Florida to visit her. Harry Potter land was amazing and I ran around like a 12 year old ..LOL I knew I would hate myself for it all.. And oh damn did I ever. Did I wish I hadn't ? Nope ,it was so worth it lol

Take time to rest and build up your energy and just have fun, live in the moment.

My ANA is positive one time and negative the next so they haven't reached any conclusions about it.

I'm so sorry yours is positive, Bubbles.

Love and hugs to all.

Your ANA can change from positive to negative back to positive. I have lupus and it's no fun.

Having said that lupus is very hard to dx. Make sure your doctor has lupus patients. Not all rhemys have lupus patients and they do not know how to treat them.

Also there are about 60-80 different AI's out there that mimic lupus. It's one of the reasons it's so hard to dx.

Keep a note book of all your symptoms and any questions you have for your doctor. Since your doctor is so far away this will help you remember things. Early treatment is key and stay out of the sun. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Just try and not freak out it's easy to do.

Sending everyone healing vibes and genteel hugs

Christina we go to Disney every year or every other year. I usually take a few days to rest. However this time I will not be able to. Last time I spent most of the time in our room
