i am looking forward to Christmas. i don't know what has happened to me, unless it's the meds. the last few years have been horrible and depressing. i have been making gifts, thinking about cookies and even planning a craft day with my daughter. it scares me, because i'm afraid i'll lose the feeling before the day gets here. i want to hold on to this...the granddaughters and daughters deserve something better than someone huddled on the sofa, crying. or not letting anyone into the house. i did that in 2003.

i've started thinking about making brownie mix and putting it into jars for gifts. this is very bizarre for me. i am checking out stuff on t.v. and in magazines. i haven't done this in so long.

(((((((((((((((((Pat)))))))))))))))))

Dont predict the future. Stay in the moment. I know it is hard to do. Just take things one day at a time.

Oooww brownie mix is a great idea. Glad it's looking like a good holiday year for you. We all deserve a little change of pace now and then huh? No worries, ok.? Take it easy on yourself and enjoy. I'm thrilled for you.

Pat I could be crazy but I think this is all good...and if you DO fizzle out and I doubt you will ...you are still days of fun and joy ahead of the game by enjoying doing all this...make any sense?

Keep yourself busy with holiday baking, cooking, making stuff, etc. I think this will help you a lot and hopefully this great feeling will not end. I'm so happy for you!

Well, I think that sounds great. It sounds like you got more into the rhythm of things, and maybe that was what you needed. *thumbs up*

this is great news! christmas can be so hard. it usually is for me...it will be harder this year, i know. i've already told the family that it will be "the thought that counts this year". We've had so many financial setbacks...the latest with hubby losing an entire week of work and medical bills.

i can so relate to it being hard usually but i'm going to try to concentrate on inventive, from the heart gifts as it sounds like you are. if you have any suggestions for me, i'd greatly appreciate it!

Love,

KD

Kimmy and crew: glitter glitter glitter. Since they came out with glitter glue, . . 1) personalize a christmas tree ornament for each person (people love to see their name in lights, HaHa), 2) cut out folded paper snowflakes and cover them in glitter glue, 3) prune evergreens to make swags and/or wreaths and/or lapel things, with tiny christmas balls, pinecones, bows, tiny toys, etc...... whatever's to hand. 4)waxed paper "stained glass": 2 pieces waxed paper, dried fallen colorful leaves (pressed flat) , crayon shaving sprinkles, no-steam iron on low, colored paper trim, bamboo skewer through top, ribbon to hang. 5) coupla decorated cookies (remember the name thing), 6) a special rock or shell or seeds or cuttings or photos....... I'll stop at a baker's half dozen. The important thing to me is, to think of the person it's for while I make it. (Of course by the time I'm done I've changed the tags on everything, but it keeps the juice flowing to think of the poeple I care about while I'm futzing around being creative...)

One year I made glitter balls for the whole family and sent them to my Mom--figuring everybody would pass through her house at some point. Well, I guess I wasn't clear about the giving them out part, cause, she made a centerpiece with
them..... but what the heck, everybody saw them, knew they were included, which was my whole point. I enjoy crafts, as a calming thing, so it was all around good for me. Ya inspired now? Yo

i've made more gifts! and am framing a poster for my granddaughter. her cat, Spook, died two years ago and i found a poster of a black cat walking through a beautiful garden. (heaven) i can't wait to give it to her.

glitter glue just might be the most important invention in 100 years!! i have every color. i use it every chance i get. i've a very glittery, shiny and colorful soul. my walls are covered with art and it all screams color! xoxox pat

I think that doing creative things for gifts is so beautiful and much more personal. You put a bit of yourself in it and it is so unique.

Keep your spirit up my friend! You are great!
