THAT didn't sound supportive. ![]() Candy, you're reeling from all sorts of things going on in your life! Please be gentle with yourself. Look at what you did get done! wisewoman, aren't Jack Russells supposed to be kind of hyper? I really need a mellow, low-maintenance type pet. I learned that the last time I had a kitten. ;-) HOO boy -- I've never seen so much energy in such a tiny thing! And they stay hyper till they're 1 or 2. I've been thinking of maybe an older cat.
I dunno. I still have to get my pdoc to write the letter! So I still have time to figure it out. Candy |

Sky, I only get 3 or 4 hours on good days too, and it bugs the hell out of me. I feel like I should be able to do more. I don't know if it's the physical illness or the depression keeping me down, or both. I don't have limited physical mobility to blame it on.
As for how much I got done -- Blockbuster and Great Clips are in the same strip mall, which is on the way home from the bank. ![]() I dunno. I go from freaking out over the fact that I have a potentially fatal illness, to thinking I should be just as fine as I used to be. More fodder for therapy, I guess. Candy |

Ok, I'll try and share the good stuff my T shares with me on this...but maybe I won't say it as well
![]() ...Would it matter (should it?) if you "knew" it was one or the other that "causes" this? What difference would that make? It is what it is. Would you be able to change the result by determining this? I doubt it, as that would imply that you are causing it, therefore you can stop causing it. Which we know isn't true. It IS difficult to accept limitations, especially if you have been very active. I haven't accepted my disability yet... go figure. I'm sure that came through by my exclaiming my limited functionality per day ![]() "Should be" is a terrible place to be. Life isn't "fair" it isn't fully understandable, it isn't ever long enough to get it all done or get it all "right." But I know what you mean. ![]() The sooner you can work through these feelings (mostly) the sooner you can use that energy on good things you want to "do." IDK that anyone can skip over these feelings of loss and not waste any energy on them... but if I can help you shorten that time, I will.

Jack russels can also be gentle. It depends on the breeding. I am partial to mixed breeds for this reason. I have met some very sweet Jacks. But I have a Ha Ha about one. I have a tall male friend and he was in an elderly client's home and the dog was jumping up and down up and down trying to grab his pants. He did, right in the groin. Pants were the only thing injured so it was humerous but I can picture it now. Getting a pet is a very personal decision. It is more about who chooses you.

The Jack Russell Terrier's I'm familiar are known for their hyperness. I agree with Wisewoman about mixes. My parents had a mixed Bijon/Maltese that was just precious. After it died they got a true Bijon. I get all my pets from the SPCA and always get animals that are 2-3 years old; that way the puppy/kitty has had time to mature!
During the times in the past I was at my worst and just wanted to stay in bed all day, knowing I had 3 animals at one time forced me to get up, feed them, let them out and do it again in the evening. Even now, although one adult cat isn't hard to take care of...she follows me around like she is keeping "tabs" on me and if she thinks "we've" slept too long in the mornings, she sits on my end table and stares at me...lol. I vote for a pet companion! ![]()

And I STILL say, we should look for a way for us to get together. It would have to be several get-togethers for the different regions and countries, but it's been done before. Years ago I went to an AOL chat room party. A hall was rented. It was a wonderful thing!

actually, it ultimately rang five whole times today! Gee! People are starting to remember I exist!
It rang while I was in therapy and my T cracked up at the ringtone. He loves ST: TNG. ![]() |

Jack Russels Terriers usually require few trips to the Vets office as they have very few inherited maladies..and are very hearty. Personally I think of them as an ideal small dog to have and to hold.

FIVE phone calls yesterday!!!!!!
![]() I like the idea of a giant party or several "regional" parties as well. In the day and pre-windows, I chatted on IRC channels. It just happened that on a particular channel there were quite a few of us who lived in this area. We began getting together at least once a month and had a wonderful time! We'd go to a 50's type dance place and when other people from the channel came to our city for fun or business, we'd throw a party for them. Those were the days! And at least one marriage came from that. ![]()
