you can try "accepting them"
you can try breathing exercises you can try meditating you can try hot/cold showers you can take ADs but the only effective solution that really takes the edge off and helps you start a new refreshed day is jogging/walking i have no scientific proof of course but it's a far more effective solution than anything else and i've tried them all in my 15 years of depression |

I've been immobilized by them, before. Glad jogging and walking works for you.

Yes exercise does wonders. Mine is cycling tho.
The thing with these types of exercises is they put us in control: pace, direction, etc...plus exercise releases endorphins that make us feel good. So it's a tandem of physical and psychological benefits. I feel my strongest mentally when I'm in the middle of my exercise. |

Exercise does help me quite a bit, but not in the middle of a panic attack.. I'm glad that works for you. I think different stuff works for different people so it's good to talk about what works for you.
thanks for your post. |

Mine comes during stressful business meetings. Twice I've excused myself to go to the rest room. I find the walk itself helps. I guess anything that diverts our attention even a little bit to something else helps. |

Hi,
I think that if you stop regarding panic attacks as panic attacks, and rather regard them as a feeling or sensation happening inside you mind, you might see it in a different light. It could be bad or good, or neither of the two. By labelling it you are also solidifying everything bad that is being said about it by various people. And this might not help at all. I think if you could objectify these panic attacks and look at it as a passing sensation, such a feeling happy when someone gives you a gift or feeling bad when your dog dies. Both these feelings appear given a reason and tend to disperse after a while. Therefore maybe if you chose to look at it this way it could help. Look at it as an 'odd feeling'.. like, "oh wow, what is this weird feeling" and not like "holy **** I'm having a panic attack again".. |
