Phil, sometimes parents don't understand fully what's going on, and if you put on a mask of wellness around them, they will never understand. It took me taking some very drastic measures before my parents would listen to me at all, but now I know I should have just talked to them in the first place, they would have been more understanding than I thought. Direction is right, though. If they do yell, you can call 911 and get to the emergency room on your own. It's not too drastic if it helps save your life.
And if you don't think you are getting adequate treatment from your doctor, can you change? Any doctor should know more than to say "just hang in there" or to distract yourself because sometimes that is or seems to be impossible. If you do spend time in the hospital, you could probably talk to them about a new doctor you could see, or something. |
