Hello 😄
Last week was not very good for me, Lots of black outs, to the point I lost about 3 days, my mood must have been noticeably low, my friends at work were asking what was wrong. But I couldn't even answer them. Thursday, I was physically exhausted, and I had racing thoughts. But no black outs. My friends were asking more questions. I just wasn't ready to talk, I still just wished I could be locked in a room, with no human contact. And I was getting agitated and stressed very easily, people on the bus talking, eating crisps, just everything was getting to me. Same thing on Friday, but I had a couple 3rd person moments, and lots of déjà vu, but I was planning to talk to my co workers. But I bottled it. The weekend I has been better, but I have lots to distract myself with. Anyway, I think tomorrow I should tell my co workers what was going on. And it could be a chance to learn what others see, maybe learn something about my black outs. Has anyone been in the same situation? Maybe have some advice? maybe it will help you to know what we do here .... we share with each other our own diagnosis, what our own treatment providers have us doing for the problems that may be the same as others, we give each other computerized hugs and thanks.... we do not diagnose each other problems or tell each other what to do. you are the one that must tell us what your problems are and what you should /want to do about it. example of what we do here... I have had the same problems you have had where I have lost track of time, woke up in other places and such.... my own treatment providers called it by many different names depending upon other accompanying symptoms like anxiety, depression, panic attack, mania, bipolar disorder. in me its also been called sleep deprivation, psychosis, an eating disorder and yes under some situations it was called a dissociative problem.... these are all things my own treatment providers said the problem was with in me, that does not mean its going to be these things in you. only your doctors can tell you what something is with in you. some people I have told about my problems and others I did not... whether you tell someone ....friends, co workers, family....is a personal choice. on this side of things I can tell you to think carefully about who and why you want to tell them, once its out of the bag theres no going back, kind of like jumping off a cliff after you jump you cant do anything other than think oh crap that was not a good idea or hey this is fun depending on the outcome. only you know whether you should or should not tell those around you what your problems are and who to tell. we can not make that decision for you. my suggestion if this continues to bother you contact a doctor in your off computer location. they can help you sort through what is happening, your feelings and help you decide what you should/want to or need to do about this situation. |

I think he is asking for some support, not that you diagnose him.

I have been diagnosed my my psychiatrist, I have been told it's dissociation, given some things to try, go to a safe place, and breathing exercises.
I just wanted to know, if anyone else has had the same situation, where they have felt they had to tell people around them what is going on, and how they dealt with it, I have decided to tell them, 3 day of black outs at work, it's not safe, I just wanted some advice on how to go about it, I have tried to tell them, but I always back out at last minute. I am so sorry that you are going through this Stephen. It is so scary to loose days. That has happened to me in the past but I never told anyone about it because in reality I didnt know it was happening to me. It is good that you are going to tell someone at work of your plight. I hope they are a close friend as you dont want everyone to know your business. I wish you all the best, sorry I have no sage advice for you.

Pierro, you are awesome!
Thank you! I've been toying with the idea if telling them, I am close with the people I work with, they are probably my only friends to be honest. And I think from a safety point of view, it's for the best. I'm more curious about how I function, my work gets done. I would like to know what my personality is like. They have noticed at work, because they were asking about it on Thursday, but I was just so exhausted! Still not 100% In not aware of anything strange today, but, just feel wired. Just not sure how I will go about telling them. Thank you Pierro. Good to hear from someone who has had similar situations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hi Stephen,
You said it yourself that you've been exhausted at times. You could always explain to your friends that you're simply exhausted. You could tell them you're thinking of getting a good medical workup done. From my own experience, I'd never reveal some of the things I did to my coworkers, if I could do it all over again. It's not a live or die decision, and you have time on your side to consider the best course of action. Whatever your decision is I hope it works out well for you. |

Thank you calm, that is good advice. I suppose, I don't have to tell them any details.
They've stopped asking, about it, so I don't feel pressured to explain any more. But it might still be something I will do. Thank you calm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I told my boss after a time, out of necessity. But as far as my co-workers, I haven't. They think I am eccentric, forgetful, etc. My boss knowing was scary enough, even though he's proven to be a safe person who has my back. I'm not very trusting... and would rather no one in the world know. My close friends know simply because it's pretty obvious something is going on with me if you're around me enough and are paying attention. Thankfully my coworkers are either naive or accepting and don't pry.
I think you have to weigh it out to see which is best for you and your situation. Good luck to you. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I finally got a letter from my psychiatrist, (it's been 3 months since I last saw her)
Hopefully I will get an appointment soon. Get some answers about my, I don't know what to call them, black outs, 3rd person, situation. But, as for telling the people I work with, I keep backing out, so, I obviously don't feel I want them to know. I seem a bit more stable this week. Just still exhausted. So, they haven't been asking. I am not a very trusting person either, I have no real friends I would talk to. Or even call friends if I'm honest. Just can't trust people. But I'm sure I will get answers from my dr. I have to tell them, yesterday one of my supervisors asked if I was on drugs, he said my eyes looked "weird" but instead of asking in private, he said it I front of everyone, needless to say, that ruined my day.
Contacted my GP yesterday, still waiting for them to contact me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
