My T is mainly stuck on the fact that I have referred to myself as you and we several times. Not in therapy but it has happened inside my head. So what do I do? I see her tommorow and I am going to tell her I do not have alters but she is going to bring up that, that is not normal. So what to do?

sorry we cant tell you what to do or what to say to your therapist. only you can decide that.

with me any time I have a question about whether I should talk about something and how I ask my treatment provider. they tell me that if its important to me then its important to them and it doesnt matter how and what I tell them, what matters is I make that decision myself.

for me honesty works. I have also been known to print off my posts here to show my treatment providers.

my suggestion is sit down and decide what it is you would like your treatment providers to know about you and your problems, then write it down, and then talk with them about it in what ever ways works for you.

How does she know that you have referred to yourself that way inside your head? You must have told her that, right? If you told her about it then clearly you think it's not normal and want to explore it,right?

Why is the title of this "I hope I don't make anyone mad"?

We are choosing to respond,we are not obligated to,if we get tired of you we could stop responding, but we are still here, responding,so don't worry about it.

You did just skip right over the first part of my post though

Yes I did tell her because I think it is abnormal but just because I think it is doesnt mean it is.

It took me a long time as a young adult to break the habit of saying we. I think i got it from my mother. "WE dont do that." Plus i also liked the idea of the royal we. It didnt occur to me until much later that i had not separated from my mother, or that i myself had split, altho i was aware i was living a life that was not-me, not my real life.

Time to ask your T why is it an issue.

I am aware that I used to say you when I am trying to own my emotions. I am trying to own emotions by replacing you with I.

True.

But Dnester, you are the one that also told your therapist about being diagnosed with DDNOS years ago,you are the one that contacted your old psychologist to find out the dx for sure.you are the one that's trying to convey here(and in therapy)that you do have some kind of dissociative disorder, you talk about the "chatter" that goes on in your head, you even talk about your parts/alters,to quote you from another thread about Tessa, you said

Quote:
Tessa my 13 year old boy part is a big cutter. He wants to cut his wrists real deep
You are the one causing all of this for yourself by what you are saying/telling here and with the professionals you are working with but then you dismiss everything you're told, contradict everything you are saying from post to post here and I am assuming you do that in therapy too.And you are refusing to delve into any of these things you re saying/telling and say your therapist is wrong and dismiss any suggestions made here.

What is REALLY going on?Don't you think it's time you just get the help you need instead of chasing your tail? Is it help that you even want? What exactly are you looking for and wanting anyway?

I'm completely lost and confused once again but one thing that's pretty clear is that you really should allow your providers to help you and treat you with whatever's going on because it seems to definitely be getting worse.

The issue is I dont know and thst drives me crazy. My t and old psychologist talked because my t and I thought it was unusual I reffered to myself in third person. I feel like I sort of just made up Tessa and Luna but I have had three more names pop up I didnt put in my head. I just went and in and try to see if i had parts and Luna and Tessa came up but alot names came up but they just stuck but those three new names came out of the blue. Anyway I told her today I didnt know if I had alters she said hypomania from the zoloft cam be causing this.she saic to not gocus on diagnosis but try to just journal so we can figure it out. I did cry last night for me as much as I can cry on these meds. I dont to be DID but I do want to know whats going on so I can fix it. My t asked me if I heard the chatter before these meds and I cant remember.

I'm so sorry you're hurting so much, Dnester Don't worry, we won't get mad at you. We just want to understand your situation better so that we can give you better advice. There's only so much we can do for you though. I'd suggest to do as your therapist says. Just keep journaling as much as you can. Report everything that you find unusual. That way you'll hopefully be able to clear things up. Just try not to resist help. They're there to help you. Just try to do your best. That's all you can do after all. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Please don't give up. I hope things will get better soon for you. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this
Thanks for this!
