Anyone know anything about cooking with Cuisinart pots n pans?
Could have sworn the "instructions" said "do not cook on high heat as it destroys the pans". Unfortunately I can't find the "instructions".. OK.. SO what that they only cost $150.. They are nice and shiny and it is cool having a nice set of pots and pans... Much better than the burned, torn up, super scratched telflon set we were using that previous renters left behind.............. SOOOOOOOOOO AJ's g/f and even her sister.... When I mention to them to not use high heat when they cook, they get a bit huffy. Like they say they need the high heat to fry and what good is it to have pans that you can't cook on? Well, is a good point, esp when one is using someone else's pots n pans......... SO sister was frying something on high and smoke filled the house and I say let me take this pan "cuisinart, nice n shiny brand new" and you can use the old pan and cook on high all night.. lol.... Tis good I did that because the old pan she used is burnt black which is no big deal because it is old, but it will take a lot of scrubbing to clean.. And I think because I can have "attitude" that I won't scrub it and just clean it and leave the black stuff on and when they c ook again they can use that pan. SO so all this stupid fuss over a pan/pans...........Don't llike the attitude that it is "MY PANS" and they look at me weird when I say please don't cook on high heat as the instructions says it destroys the pans........ SOOOOOOOOOOOO was I like reading these instructions for real.. LOL.. DID I MAKE this all up........... or is it true... that cooking on high heat destroys Cuisinart pots and pans... I do belive I will get a cheaper set of pots and pans and put mine away.. But that is sooooooo freaking stupid/ What purpose is it to have them if I put the up....... DOn't know what the big deal is about these pots n pans...... lol I 'd just like to keep them looking nice for a bit longer than one month?????? Have I gone mad?? lol Just if you are gonna use my s tuff, please be nice to it.. if you want to rag stuff, rag your own stuff. not mine...... |

I have a set of Cuisinart pots and pans, but I don't remember anything about not cooking on high heat. I just cook with them. I also put them all in the dishwasher. Probably also a no-no. I haven't had any problems with the pans being destroyed.
![]() I understand you want them to stay nice, but really, what good are they if you don't use them? And mine, after several years, are still nice and shiny. ![]()

I agree , what purpose is it to have them. But then do u have folks burning the pans totally black on the inside of them.. My opinion if one wants to burn pans , then use the ugly, burnt up ones...
I use them every day.. Just I don't burn them and I am careful not to burn the bottom and inside of the pans black... Guess that is the difference. I hate pots n pans burnt black on the bottoms.. |

Are these pans non stick radio flyer. If they are, then highest heat isn't recommended because it breaks down the non stick coating. I make this one dish that requires caramelized onions which requires maximum heat and this will totally ruin the non stick surface. I have to use a regular aluminum pan. Cooking on high heat with non sticks pans is also unhealthy. Did you know if a teflon pan start chipping and we eat it...it stays in the body. I'm looking forward to getting anodized aluminum pans which are non stick without the Teflon. We don't have them here yet in Canada.
Really I don't know how you stand it when other women are regularly in your kitchen and I can understand why you would be bothered. No I don't think you're being fussy. If theses are aluminum /stainless steel, you can buy a pot/pan cleaner that's a powder which works well to take off stains.

Lynn.. they are stainless steel.. The mention of teflon being scratch was just an example when someone scatches the heck out of the teflon by using metal utensils.
Honestly, half of me can't stand having folks in the kitchen. Other half doesn't mind if whoever uses the kitchen cleans the dishes/pots n pans after cooking.. The renter that pees off the deck, lol, is moving out the end of this month and we have another guy moving in.. The peeing guy doesn't cook because he never buys food to cook.. The new guy cooks cuz his eyes lit up when he saw the kitchen lol.. Hope that goes well.....Time will tell.. I don't want folks messing up my new pots n pans....... lol Thinks the solution is to just get some cheap pots n pans and they can cook up a storm. Won't matter if they burn up the cheap pans...... I just want mine to stay nice , what can I say. It isn't "deliberate" that folks burn pans.. I've been known to burn a few. Just guess if one is to burn up the new pans, I want to be the first... And when I am using someone's elses pans I make sure I don't burn them.. Not that my pans are burned, yet.. Just the old pan the "sister" used is burned black inside. And if that happened to have been one of my new pans, I would have hit the roof......... lol |

I understand how you feel radio - I would be possessive of a new set too. Good idea about getting a cheap set. Good news about Mr Pee-off-the-deckman leaving. Lets hope he doesn't ask for references lol. Notice to future landlords - "don't grow a garden"

lollllllllllllll lynn. Mr Pee-off-the deckman... I doubt he will ask for refrences.. He never paid his rent on time. He was always 3 weeks or more late... He isn't all that bad of a person... Just not very responsible...
Not sure how it will work out with having renters with AJ's girlfriend here. SHe is very moody and if even a lamp is moved half an inch, she flips out.. lol.. Let alone leave a dirty glass on the coffee table... AJ's dad brought me speakers for surround sound and the good thing with having surround sound is I hear nothing upstairs.... Cus she fusses a lot......... Good thing is, the upstairs is clean and looking beautiful. She even has AJ cleaning .... ![]() OO I didn't know teflon stays in the body... My insides are prob teflon coated because the old pots n pans were teflon and scratched up pretty bad. That is why I wanted to try the stainless steel ones..... |

That's very true gma45. If anyone is using a new teflon pan....they should wash it well and then heat for a few minutes on med heat with no food in it. Run the exhaust fan. The fumes would hurt small birds if they're in the area. If a person preheats the pan for a minute or so....there's no need to use the highest heat and they'll still get that sizzle when they put the meat in.
