Cornish hens? I like them but my husband doesn't like anything with "bones" he has to pick though; he doesn't do any meat with lots of bones (or chicken becuase his ex-wife only served chicken all that marriage (nearly 20 years) and he kind of got tired of something he kind of didn't like in the first place? So, I only serve boneless breasts and then, only occasionally. But I like dark meat so we clash there anyway.

Hubby will be away all week so the cooking will be up to me. Tonight it’s lasagna Matthew’s choice. If I make enough that will be what’s for dinner tomorrow too! You never know though, the twins are going through a growing spurt I swear and can eat their own weight in food!

Ohhh, "real" shepherd's pie! I bought a "box" of rabbit once, frozen. I'd been reading too many English novels with gamekeeper's families in them, LOL. I made rabbit stew. But, there were too many bones in the rabbit and I had decided to take them out after they cooked and they were just too hot to handle so it didn't come out the way I wanted Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating?

I guess I'll stick my two steaks in the crock pot with some gravy, have me some kind of "pot roast" sort of deal eventually. Ho, hum. What kind of potatoes should I have; boxed au gratin/cheese, mashed, baked?

I'm with you there! We ordered delivery last night and tonight we're doing "free for all" so we fix whatever we can find that looks appealing :-) I do need to go to the store though and I cooked Sunday and Monday nights!

I just had popcorn and a 1/2 Coke, now I'm eating a cinnamon raisin bagel :-)

I've been cooking a lot lately - but not that I mind. I actually am one of those freaks who loves to cook Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating? I was creative up until last night (English muffin pizzas - LOL), and I'm not feeling super inspired tonight either. I think tonight will be my famous sloppy faux-s. Yep, it's sloppy joes without the meat. I don't eat meat (except ocassional fish) so I use the veggie crumbles instead. My meat eater hubby doesn't mind at all - in fact he requests this and my meat-faux-f (like meatloaf) all the time.

Now side dishes....hmm. Gotta get back to you on that one. If I'm feeling inspired by tonight, I'll come up with something creative. Otherwise it's either salad bar or a bag of frozen veggies. My chef skills are wearing off this late in the week Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating?

I like to pick one of my too many cookbooks and find a recipe a week and go buy the stuff for it and then make that.

I really need to get to the store today, we're out of cream and sugar for coffee if nothing else and one day soon, Calvin, my cat, is going to get unhappy if I don't get him more wet food.

It served its purpose. I was too tired to cook and I waited too long to order in. Its hard to mess up hot cereal.

Yeah, I guess you could mess it up. I've made it so often throughout the years it seems impossible to ruin it.
I like to add almond extract to it.

My sister used to make what she called cookie dough oatmeal. She would add blueberries, maple syrup, almond extract, raisins. My teeth hurt just thinking about it. I used to call it garbage outmeal; it seemed like she was cleaning out her fridge each time.

I don't always like different textures, combinations. I don't like ice cream and cake; I'll eat one or the other, usually a little ice cream, but am not a fan of a la mode because of texture and temperature differences. I like raisin bread and perhaps I could tolerate raisins in my oatmeal but it wouldn't be a favorite, really chewy together with the warm and soothing "pablum" feel of the oatmeal. Oatmeal cookies with raisins are okay too for me but not for most people I don't think.

I was thinking about texture last night at dinner. My husband and I went to a place we like down the street, a good seafood restaurant, and I ordered the "Cold Plate" which is three "mounds" of cole slaw, really good shrimp salad, and then potato salad, surrounded by tomato wedges, hard boiled egg halves and sliced cucumbers. I like the cole slaw but not the potoato salad and I was trying to figure out why I didn't like the potato salad (since I love potatoes, they're one of my top 5 favorite foods). I decided the potatoes were overcooked, mushy, and the sauce was not quite sweet enough for my taste and was perhaps too smooth, such that the texture of the mushy potatoes "clashed" too much with it. You had a creamy texture and then "lumpiness" that wasn't the same flavor as the sauce. I guess a bit like lumpy oatmeal is to some people (I have no trouble with lumpy oatmeal, can eat oatmeal "raw").

The whole taste experience, when you think about it, can really be quite interesting.

If i have some money left over from paying bills.. I think i am gonna order pizza for supper. I plan on going to bank here soon and making bills out.. and then cleaning house tonight.. so I dont want to mess things up in the kitchen cooking tonight. Weird I know.. but I need a break from cooking once in awhile Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating? Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating? Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating? Dinner. Who's fixing it and what are you eating?
