If you're not eating much ...and you're taking a lot of medication...can you get a burning sensation in your stomach?

yes, ma'am you can........you have no protection in the tummy against the meds.......eating or drinking something before you take your meds generally ends the burning. you know we have stomach acid anyway and the meds really go nuts down there when that's what they meet up with. i suggest yoghurt, if you like it. or buttermilk....depends upon what you're taking...

Eva,

I have had the burn in stomach before, usually milk, pepto or yogurt helps me. You could always try pudding, but I don't think it would do anything lol Stomach burning

Take care,

Most meds say to eat before taking so you don't get upset stomach, custard is another good soft food to coat the tummy

I'm not really having the burning...I'm not sure why it eased up because I'm eating even less.

*shrugs*

Are you at least eating what you eat before you take the meds?

Aww... T_T It still worries me. Just because you don't feel the damage it doesn't mean it isn't happening...

Aww... take care of yourself kay?

first, are you at a weight that is compatible with your height? if you are, will you please get something like slim-fast and drink at least one a day..(lots of minerals and vitamins in them).....if you're thin.....try a smoothie...you've got to eat and mortimer is correct...just because your stomach doesn't hurt doesn't mean the damage isn't being done...........p

Hi Pat,

Yes ever since your reply and mortimers...I've been thinking. Well first I'm thinking I should start taking more vitamins and maybe try like yah at least 1protein shake or bar or something.

I'm still overweight. I had gained a lot of weight because of meds, but have since dropped an enormous amount of that weight.

I don't feel I have an eating disorder is what I think. I did use to purge, but to hurt myself and for control. That started to control me though and get out of control and caused health problems so I have not done that in several years and would never do that again.

I stop eating because of si and control, but as I do do that I will admit that my thinking becomes a little "fuzzy" about it. I get confused. I will not go completely without eating.

I will eat if I have to go out and not worry. I will eat let's say one meal a day, but now after time I will now start to worry "oh did I eat too much?" whereas before I didn't think twice because really it was more that I was in control...that's more what mattered.

I hope that made sense.

I will try to think about adding the protein or vitamin stuff.

I am getting confused because I am angry and not too long ago I was not doing well. I was in therapy back then and my therapist got angry with me and said I was doing it as a self assisted suicide and when I thought about it then I agreed.

So I am just confused.

I'm sorry I hope i didn't ramble or confuse you?

I am having a hard time.

*hug* T__T I'm sorry it's hard for you now.

What I think about eating disorders, is it's all about the control. You may not be preoccupied with your body, but that is just a symptom. I'm glad you'll at least eat something though. That's a good thing. ^___^

Don't be so hard on yourself, alright? This is hard, and it proves you're strong to Keep plugging through it. I hope the stress starts lifting. T_T Keep us posted, and if there's anything we can do then speaking up, kay?

You're not being confusing or rambling, keep taking care of yourself. *hug*

i, too, am sorry that you're in such pain now....you might try the slim fast drinks...they are packed with minerals and vitamins and they wouldn't put any weight on you...just the opposite..i'm just concerned about your system getting out of whack and you'll get into a really bad spot. DO NOT take vitamins on an empty stomach....it will probably hurt and be damaging to your lining.......k? Pat

That's good. ^__^

Make sure you 'shop around' a lot, I know you can find a T that will respect that you don't want to be in a hospital. ^_^ You're doing good! You keep it up and I know it will turn out alright. I'm hoping the bestest for ya.
