I ate today... a sandwich. Actually it's the first "meal type" food since last Saturday when I ate at a restaurant. sigh. I don't have a scale so I don't know my weight now... but I had gained (from stress?) again last week.

I'm going to start eating like I did when I was a kid. I still remember how I used to eat.

I used to never finish my food. I had half portions instead of whole portions. I used to share the other half with my sister.

I'm going to restrict nothing, but eat small portions and a smaller amount. Over the years I've slowly increased the amount of food I've been eating. I'm not doing it out of hunger.

Counting calories is too much work. I'm going to eat like I did 12 years ago. I should definitely lose weight.

I want to lose at least 15 pounds. My first mini goal is 110 pounds.

I'll weigh myself in a month to see if I reached my mini goal. I'm too afraid to weigh myself right now. I hope I'm not above 115 pounds.

I'm going to us my food scale to make sure my portions are kept in check.

Wish me luck! I haven't had much luck so far.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I need to stay active!! Saw my doc yesterday and I've lost 40 pounds since I saw her last year, so that's good....but I've been on steroids and just want to eat all the time! Been good about trying to eat healthy but yesterday I was eating everything in site. Got in an insane craving for brocolli and ate the whole bunch. At least that was healthy, minus the ranch dressing! Last week I was good about doing my Pilates workout every day but didn't do it over the weekend and haven't picked it up this week. Today I want to do the Pilates and swim some laps. I must stay active and excersise, not only for weight maintenence but for my general health, so lets get this thread hoppin again!

I lost the 4 pounds last week from the trip, plus another one this week. But I'm still too heavy. Trying new sleep med and don't know if that will make any difference...as of yet, I don't see that I'm going out and eating while sleeping on this med, so that's good.

I've been going to thepool a few days a week... reading mostly but maybe doing two laps (not at same breath)... and my body feels it. I should be sleeping better but I"m not... and I'm still not happy about my eating once a day.

I've contacted yet another dietician... email wise... as the other one who replaced the first good one, is quite basic.

Did the Pilates today! Was going to swim laps too but don't want to overdo it so I think I'll do that tomorrow. Cooking a healthy chicken meal right now. Gained 4 pounds in the last week, but I was expecting to gain 20 on the steroids, so I'll take 4 =)

Today I swam some laps and got some sun. Won't be eating too healthy because all I have left is less than healthy, not too bad for me, but not fresh. Gotta make due though!

Where did y'all go? Ok I'm in a pain flare, which complicates everything...but I had a grilled chicken salad with a bit of vinegarette dressing... been drinking iced coffee lately. Maybe the caffeine has contributed to my flare? grrr (along with the startle Sat., Alberto the tropical storm, and the pending in home assessment???)

Yeah I had a pain flair up too. Haven't excersised at all since Friday's swim. Haven't eaten great either, but I've been eating what's in my apartment since I've been broke...so....hopefully do something good tomorrow!

I've recently jumped onto the weight-loss band-wagon. I don't own a scale so I don't really know how much I weigh, but I was growing out of all my clothes and that was sign enough for me that I need to lose some weight. I've actually been struggling with this since February and I've tried many things and have failed miserably. I've finally reached a point where I longer seem to be gaining weight but I'm not so sure I'm losing weight either.

Other than changing how I eat I try to dance for an hour or two every couple of nights. It's hard though. I don't seem to have the energy for it. I just keep hoping that the energy will come with time.

I've gained 3 pounds and 6.5 inches. =( I'm trying to keep in mind that my menstral cycle is all outta wake and I JUST got off the steroids, and have been pretty inactive, still, seeing it in black and white is pushing me to get active as much as I can. Did the Pilates today and swam a little. How's everyone doin?

(Weight loss thread part deux Ray! I read that as HEIGHT gained Weight loss thread part deux ) Couldn't figure out how you did that, work at a nuke plant or what! Sorry.

I'm just trying to eat...at least once a day. Now that the crisis about the dog has been relieved, I can move on to maybe better self-care?

Ok... now what should I do again? No plain rolls (garlic ok?) No coke. No sugar... salad every day, small amount of dressing (vinegarette?)... eat slowly, put fork down between each bite... drink lots of water.

Did I forget something?

Ideally we should eat 5 times a day in small portions, having the largest portion around lunch time. I don't cut anything out, or else I'll go nuts and binge. I have been limiting sweets and junk food only because I'm trying to be extra healthy right now, but if someone put a bowl of ice cream in front of me, I wouldn't deny it. Weight loss thread part deux We're supposed to keep everything balanced, and I've been drinking more milk and eating more yogurt, enough dairy was something I was never good at. Trying to make sure I'm getting plenty of protein. I was never big on soda so that's not a huge issue. I've been drinking decaf iced tea, but still just as much coffee in the mornings hehe. The water is definetly important!

Actually, doing Pilates in a regular basis can add height just by improved posture and the excersises are lengening...so maybe I will get a little taller? Weight loss thread part deux

true. I ate twice today...well plus an oatmeal to go... so 3x... I think the term is "grazing" rather than 3 big meals a day...

I tried that and it was a disaster. Small meals are not the least bit satisfying for me and I ended up eating more than were I to eat three meals a day.

I hopped on my exercise bike last night and rode 2.5 miles and then spent a little more than an hour dancing.

One food that I need to cut out of my diet, forever and ever, is ice cream. I have no self control and every time I buy ice cream I end up gaining weight.

The good thing about "grazing" is that it increases your metabolism, and will over time, help you lose weight.

I'm losing fat, but not overall weight yet. Salad with vinegarette, broccoli, grilled Perdue chicken... tea with sacharin. no rolls.

Perhaps for some. I did it for months and I gained more and more weight.

Anyway, I wore a pair of jeans yesterday that I haven't been able to get into for months and, though they were still a bit snug around the waist, they didn't leave an angry red impression around my waist.

I watched the basketball game last night so I didn't bother with exercising.
