Sure, happens to me all the time. If your blood sugar is low because you haven't eaten in several hours, and then you eat a lot (or at least something with a lot of sugar), you'll crash like that.

Hi Be!!!

You are eating too many carbs. Carbs turn into sugar, spike your blood and then drop, leaving you drooping. I suggest some protein.

If you don't like meat like I do, I'll give you my tofu salad recipe. sleepy

Hugs,

Jan

Yeah, some foods can do that to you.

protein = eggs too right?

my favourite ez meal = scrambled eggs, spinach (i'm lazy and buy the freeflow frozen kind) on one piece of super grainy bread.

protein, iron, and a little (but not tooo much) carbs.

Actually, if you still wish to eat some of those foods ... add them to a meal with foods with lower Glycemic Indexes...and the uptake will be slower and not so affective. It's all about moderation? TC (((bebop)))

I would like to know a lot more about nutrition, but I feel overwhelmed and confused by all the conflicting information out there. Plus, I find it boring as everything, and don't remember the information I read very well.

try changing the type of food you are eating. Certain foods cause an increase of amino acids being produced in the body which is what causes sleepyness after meals. You may want to also consult with your physician to rule out sleep disorders such as narcolepsy and depression and so on. If it is a medical problem medication will help. if its not a medical problem changing the type of foods you eat will solve the problem.

People are creatures of habit. Most of us only eat the same 16 foods all the time. Try making the list of foods you eat (not the ones you like, the ones you find yourself eating.) Begin from there... look up what each one already gives you, what nutrients it adds to your diet. Then you just need to look to add what you are missing, and not worry about all the other foods out there. sleepy
