Well' I haven't been very well lately, chest infections and unable to eat, feeling sick blah, blah, blah.

Tried to get up this morning and my joints are killing me. Thumb joints and knees in particular. Got down to get the washing out of the washing machine and couldn't get back up again! Unexplained joint pain

Any ideas friends? I don't want to go to the doctors, thanks.

Hmmm.....could it be a touch of arthritis or maybe a change in the weather affecting your joints?

I would suggest something that will help with swelling and pain, like Ibuprofen...don't know what it's called in the UK..maybe the same?? LOL

Sure hoping you are feeling better soon.....and that you are not walking around all bent over Unexplained joint pain

Maybe I'll just refuse to empty the washing machine! Unexplained joint pain

I can't take ibuprofen (yes it is called that in the UK also) cos of the asthma I have.

I feel like an old lady at the moment. Unexplained joint pain

If you're doing those things following prolonged infections, I would get to the dr. (as much as I hate going as well).

I really think you should be seen, hon, and explain these new symptoms and get a good physical and bloodwork.

Let us know, honey, and rest if you can.

I know you are probably right kimmydawn.

I have had flu 4 times in the last 6 months, this joint pain seems kind of similar to that without the sneezing. I do feel like a truck has come and run over me!

It'll take a couple of days for me to rev myself up to go to the doctors.

Thanks.

Might be flu again:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...ommon%20Causes

None of these possibilities for the pain look very nice, I'd see the doctor. Have you had a problem with ibuprofen and your asthma in the past? I take it all the time, my pain med of choice.

Gosh , that's quite a list there in the link Perna! Unexplained joint pain

Unfortunately ibuprofen sets the asthma off something cronic and I could do without that aswell.

The thing is, I finished a big dose of steroids just two weeks ago because the asthma had got way out of control and just finished a long course of antibiotics aswell for the chest infection.

Iv'e not been able to eat properly in a long time because of being too stressed out and throwing up. My T is aware that I'm not doing well and my Doctor had said to take the summer off. I have other things going on aswell which means I'm not getting any rest what so ever.

I guess my body is saying it needs a rest but I haven't got the time to do it!

Thanks for caring.

Sweetheart.....hear me on this ok??

I know that life throws curve balls at us and we have to duck and cover or charge after it and take care of a bazillion things cuz dang it...we are WOMAN and the only ones who can do it! Unexplained joint pain

Now, consider this.....you are so run down that you can't get your head off the pillow....the kids are chasing the chickens, your son is bringing the rooster in to play with and your hubby hasn't cooked a meal for anyone including you! Now what are you going to do???

It's sometimes a hard lesson for us moms/wives to learn is that we must...absolutely MUST start putting ourselves at the top of the "to do list". We cannot possibly keep going and doing things for our families if we don't do for us first. Only then can you find the time, the energy to keep going Unexplained joint pain

Ok, I'm off my Unexplained joint pain now. I say all this only because I care about you and your family. You so deserve to take good care of YOU. It's about danged time woman... Unexplained joint pain

Aww... thanks for caring! Unexplained joint pain

The story continues, my hands and knees have now swollen right up and trying to get down the stairs this morning was hilarious! And I now have a rash all over my body. So I'm thinking this must be mumps or measles or some other virus. How strange!

I am very grateful for the concern. I had to go food shopping earlier, luckily the children picked up the stuff from the bottom shelves. Although my son did knock over three jars of pickled onions! Unexplained joint pain

I am now completely knackered, going to put my feet up and I ain't moving from here!

Just wanted to let you all know that I had something called slap-cheek. In children, it makes them look like they have been slapped on the cheeks and mild fever. In adults, it can cause fever, lethargy and joint pain.

I'm much better now, thanks.
