I applied, and then denied, SSDI. The ALJ said that he didn't recognize/accept the qualifications of those making my diagnoses:

LCSW, QMHP,LMP, MA, PMHNP, MD, and a PhD Licensed Psychlogist

If none of these folks were qualified, then who is qualified to make a diagnosis?

Can someone explain this to me? And is there a place where I might find the education, experience, licensing requirements for each MH professional?

I can't because I don't understand why an MD and a psychologist aren't qualified to make a diagnosis and back your claim. I think you need to appeal that decision ASAP.
I'm not sure if this will help but it may be worth checking out. I assume you have an attorney.

I don't understand it either, but I know w MH issues, they like to see psychiatric treatment. Sorry I can't be any more helpful than that! The best!

Is the MD a Psychiatrist? None of the others would qualify under SSA rules. It has to be an MD or DO, and in the case of mental health diagnoses, I think they do ask for a specialist's opinion and not a general MD/DO. I'm surprised they didn't send you to one of their own medical evaluations if they weren't happy with the providers you went through. Definitely consult an attorney at this point.

There should definitely be an attorney involved. My doctor stated that he considered me unable to work and the doctor who did the evaluation for SSA stated I was unable to work. Whoever made the final decision inside SSA disagreed with the doctors.
Get an attorney.

Who's the ALJ? The designated SSA Psychologist who evaluated you for SSDI approval? My personal documentation was from my own Psychiatrist and a SSA Psychologist interviewed me for SSDI. I was denied after 1st application but everyone gets denied. Then you have to appeal and go to court. Get a good lawyer. I won my case fairly easily even though Judge could not read Psychiatrist's notes (but I have long history which is documented).

an lpc, licensed psychologist, or a psychiatrist md are qualified to diagnose you with a mental illness not anyone else but for disability hearings they are most probably going to require a psychiatrist md to have diagnosed you but unless someone is very very very severe 90 percent of applicants are denied the first time they apply regardless of what proof they have of their disability

You say diagnoses, plural? What were they/the "one" you were trying to get SSDI with? An MD would probably be qualified for most diagnoses but probably not if he were not a psychiatrist and you are making a mental health claim. I would have a lawyer specializing in SSDI review your claim and see what they see. It could just be that your claim was not focused enough?

social security sends out letters to applicants for SSDI and SSI shortly after they first apply for SSDI and SSI. in that letter it says social security would like the applicant to see the treatment providers listed free of charge to get a better understanding of the applicants disabilities.

when you got that letter did you see those treatment providers listed..

if not thats what the ALJ means. they are invalidating the treatment providers that you have already used so that you may see new treatment providers that are approved by social security. (the ones on the letter they send out)

this way the new judgement of approval or denial will be based on new information about your disabilities, not based on already supplied treatment providers which got you denied in the first place.

if they used the same treatment providers over and over again all thats going to happen is you getting denied over and over again.

if you cant find the letter social security sent you with the list of approved treatment providers that social security wants you to see contact your social security office and they will send you another letter of social security approved treatment providers.
