why am i obsessed with the past? is anyone else the same way? i just think about it a lot... talk about it a lot. i didn't think it was a big deal... until one of my best friends told me it was hard for him to be supporting of me sometimes, because i dwell so much on the past. now i finally think it might not be normal to dwell so much on the past... but what else am i to do? is there a reason i would be this way?

another thing...

i've started feeling off lately... there's this intensity... i can feel it... i feel overwhelmed at times... but i dont know why!!!! i can't tell what these feelings are relating to!!! i can't tell what its about!

i feel things... i feel intensity... longing... sadness... frustration... but there's this wall around it. i can't FOR THE LIFE OF ME tell what these feelings have to do with, or are about.

i just dont get it.

Julie,

Those are all really great questions. When you find the answers you will have a good understanding of yourself. Nobody can answer them for you though. They are the kind of questions that a therapist might encourage you to try to answer for yourself. I think that it is good that you are aware of the questions, and I hope that you do some exploring and find the answers. I know that you have been doing better lately, but even so, therapy would probably help you with understanding yourself and getting the most that you can out of life and reaching your potential. Therapy isn't for everybody, because many people are not willing to ask those kinds of questions. People like you who do ask deserve to find their answers.

Good to chat last night... yes, I can sense your anxiety... maybe some of it from the thought of going back to therapy when you felt you were all finished? I think you are searching with the right questions, and by being so aware of yourself, in a good place to finish sorting through things. Welcome back, btw.

Maybe your obsessed with your past because your mind has subconciously decided that things in your past need sorted out because they're imparing your life?

In the meantime, try just free righting, righting whatever comes to your mind and refusing to stop, even if you have nothing to say. Try to just start at a trama and analyze it or something.
