Wi fighter, do not give up. Even sounds as though the adoption agency got a bit up in arms over nothing. You will get a dog.

Yes, I know I'll get a dog. But what I won't get is a feeling of safety over posting on ANY web site in the future.

This really ticks me off big time.. I don't understand why a member would want to hurt another member. Why do they do this? All I can think of it is just pure evil.........

As for the dog, wi_fighter deserves to have a dog.. I know what it is like to be a "single parent" and a dog provides so much security. When I had my german shepherd I was afraid of nothing..... I knew I was protected.. He was one giant of a sweetie, but don't cross him.... I miss him dearly as he now is in doggie heaven ...

I do pray that whoever did this will be found out. Psych Central will be a much better, safer place without them.... Grrrrrrrr at some people's ugly, dirty, stinking actions....

Thank ozzie, I hope so too. It upsets me that it might have to come to that at all. It's not that we were attacked from outside, but from within. I feel it's very safe from the outside Internet community, but, unfortunately, someone who feels they need to seek vengeance against another member can still tell them right where to go for info.

I can tell you right now, I'd really like to tell "the culprit" where to go. On privacy and membership here

I have been gone all weekend so I just saw this and myheart breaks the fact that such a wonderful, compassionate person was treated so unjustly. I too agree with the fact people should have to join before even viewing the posts. We really are in "the open"
I am a strong believer in "what comes around, goes around" God works in mysterious ways. Eventually something will happen to make whoever this person is, rethink the fact that they have hurt not just one person but several with their actions.
To you and your kids wi fighter, I am so very sorry this has happened. I wish there was something I could say or do too help you with this situation. You will be in my thoughts.
You are a wonderful soul!
Cher

You know, I'm not a believer in one all powerful being judging our actions, but whoever did this to me, if they do believe, pretty much took it upon themselves to play God and dole out some punishment that they sought fit for me. They probably feel pretty self important right about now, if they're able to feel anything at all.

If they think this was karma paying me back for something I've done to them, they'd better be expecting some pretty big backlash for their own actions, but not from me.

What saddens me the most about losing the dog is that she was the breed we were looking for and met all the criteria we were looking for.

It's going to be hard to find that combination in the future, if at all.

That's the same thing I've been wondering myself Angie. And next time it might be something a lot worse than losing a dog.

oh my that is a good point.. If they can do it once, they can do it again... watching all my p's and q's and crossen all my t's and dotten all the i's...Dang, if someone gets in an argument or doesn't like another person for whatever reason, they can plot a revenge...I guess that is why I don't get "too" close to folks and keep a safe distance.. I've been betrayed in real life, deeply hurt by friends/people..... I give.. they take....It isn't worth all the pain to truly trust people....This situation here pretty much proves my point........

I'm confused . . . .

If you have disclosed to people here at PC your "real" name and location, then can't you guess who has violated your privacy?

or . . .

Has this been considered . . . what if the agency searched your information online and found you were a member here and read your posts?

I'm sorry this has happened to you and your family (((((wi_fighter)))))

It's a good lesson, which reminds me not to share too much info that could identify me by name to others in the real world.

It's come to my attention that I inadvertently forgot to address some people in here.

It was totally unintentional. I'm popping in and out while working at the same time. Bad excuse, I know. I should wait until I can devote my full attention in here, but I didn't want everyone to think I wasn't grateful for all the support.

Susan, a dog fund raiser would be awesome if anyone wanted to donate, but I'm doing pretty well on that end after the rummage sale. Maybe the people who wanted to donate could donate to a rescue fund in their area or to the Humane Society. They're always looking for food and litter and old towels, and cash. If I ended up having to get a purebred to fulfill all our of doggie goals, then I'd be slightly on the short end of the money stick. On privacy and membership here (OK, more like a lot on the short end of the money stick. On privacy and membership here )

Petunia, if I go back to find your post, I'll lose what I've already wrote, but thank you so much for your support.

To AllTheGirls and Fuzzy and Katheryn and everyone else who hasn't gotten a reply from me yet, you gals are all super, super awesome.

I know it's going to be a task on all of our parts, but I don't think we should let this break our spirits. It will only give satisfaction to whoever wanted me to experience the pain they felt I somehow deserved.

Jennie, I was told by the president of the agency that they were emailed and sent to PC. I had a picture of the dog and her website so all of my friends in here could share in the excitement. My profile gives my first name and my location. I was the only one looking at the dog at that time, it was pretty obvious who I was.

But they had to be pointed here to find me. They couldn't Google ******* ****** and find my posts in here.

Wi-Fighter: Good idea on donating to local animal shelters.
I got my dog 5 years ago at one.
If your only choice is purebreed and you are short on funds I am willing to pitch in, hopefully others who are appalled but the actions that have taken place will go in with me. All your call and you let me/us know.
Hang in there.

If you would consider a golden and they don't have fence rule or you can get one..somehow..anykind..I may be able to help you get one very easy...But I am stunned that they just did that cause you called them names....I find that kind of hard ...What did they say was in your thread that was so bad? I am not going to be around the next few days...I have a lot comming up...I also wanted to say I feel so bad for your kids....Still I do not get it and I am not saying its you or being insenstive but if they found all my posts they would adopt to me..so something in that thread from you had to have set them off....can you maybe call and fix that with them? Just some idea

Oh Shirley I'm so sorry for all that has happened. (I've been isolating lately.... just saw this.... On privacy and membership here)
It's so sad to think of your kids without a wonderful dog-friend On privacy and membership here Children and dogs are meant to be together IMO. In my state we are overcrowded with homeless dogs...... wish I could bring a lonely one to you.

This happening has reinforced my worry of outsiders- obtaining info and using it in negative ways out in the 3-D world. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.
There must be some way to find out who emailed the agency....... probably too simple but..... would they tell you if you asked?

You and your family are in my thoughts.

This is kind of why..I have always been very vague about my issues ...people have kinda made fun of me for not saying some things but I am glad I have posted as I have. People have in here also thrown things I have said in my face....why would I want them to have more info on me..I will remain...vague
Its not the sites fault its the nature of the net

it may be the nature of the net but in this case this agency apparently was specifically directed to this site. If that can happen to one member it can happen to any of us. As i said before, it diminishes our trust and our safety.

Its made me think about how I post and just what info I have given about myself. I dont suppose anthing can protect us from a person with malicious intent.
