Im talking about little things we can do that make such a difference to the people we come across in our daily lives.

for example - saying please an thank you....holding the door for someone, letting someone in a hurry get in front of you in line just because.

Something as simple as a smile is infectious, and the more good you do the more good seems to come to you. But the whole point is to do all of these things without expecting anything in return.. does that make sense?

This is an awesome way to think and act! In fact, if you'd like to expand upon your own insights concerning this, try reading some of Dr. Wayne Dyer's books, such as "The Power of Intention" or "Inspiration". I think you will find them truly enlightening.

I agree Rainbowzz even though sometimes it is difficult to do. Some of us get so wrapped up in ourselves or the negative that we forget what the random acts of kindness can do for someone else. If we practiced genuine kindness to others we definately will see a result in our own attitudes.

at my local grocery, there are five elderly men who sit out front. i make a point to smile and wink at them.........it makes me feel so good and they get so tickled and nudge one another.......

i love it when some stranger greets me in Spanish with "how are you, today"....they almost faint when i answer back (in my limited Spanish)

the 12th step in AA and Al-Anon speaks of how we're at our best helping others.

Rainbowwz......thank you for planting this in our minds for the weekend.......love ya, pat

That makes perfect sense and it's how I try to live my life! Nothing pleases me more than when I see someone having a difficult day and I make a point of smiling at them and speaking calmly to them. Letting people know that they count and are seen is so very important. And I truly believe that "what goes around, comes around". If I spread the love, then someone else will spread the love and before you know it, it's coming back around again..it's awesome!!

At work I use the elevator a lot. I try to make it a point to talk to people on the elevator and push buttons for them. It is suprising how many people will smile and engage in conversation. It makes my day go by a little better. So, in some ways I am doing it for myself as well as them.

I love waving at my neighbors as our cars pass eachother pulling in and out of our little parking area. Makes us both feel good. Chit chat at the mailbox is nice too, even though we're all out of practice. Sometimes I choose a checkout lane with a human just so I can get a chance to interact.

I defintely agree with you. Infact I do these things all the time
even when I am on the phone. MY goal in life ,is to meet one new person everyday. And yes it does feel good !
I also feel that if you are a good person trying to help others,
more good comes back to you. I remember, one day about
3 years ago, I was so sad because I was using a cane.
It was such a terrible time for me, because my orthordics,
were made wrong. This caused a backache, hip and knee
pain that I could barely walk. On this day I was coming out
of a department store, still using my cane, when a very
handsome man, told me Hi and have a nice day! It was
like an angel trying to send someone to cheer me up. Creating positivity

One time I was very depressed and a little psychotic. I just sat and stared into space for hours—not really aware of my surroundings unless somebody jarred me out of my trance. The night before I was hospitalized for it, I spent with my friend so I would be safe. She has a 14 year old daughter. I was sitting out on their patio just staring into space. The young teen came out and talked to me for a few minutes. She acted like nothing was wrong—even though I could not hardly talk. I still think about that and how special it was that she tried to reach out to me. Her taking a few minutes to chat with me really meant a lot to me—it still does.

SBD - LOVE Wayne Dyer, I have many of his cd's that i listen to in the car and downloaded onto my IPOD.

Rainbowzz - absolutely this is good and it makes you feel good to! I know sometimes (when I use to drink coffee) I would pay for the person behind my in the drive through. Alot of times in line at a store I let others go ahead of me if I'm having an okay pain day.

I try to do things for people at work as well because it always makes me feel good about myself - so as much as they appreciate what I do it's a bit selfish Creating positivity
