HI All the Girls,

Someone may have already answered your question, but I thought I would chime in. Zuccini is a type of squash. It is the shape of a cucumber, the the skin is softer, and the inside itself. It's yummy, and grows easily. Home grown

Friends,

Does anyone eat cucumber sandwiches? Oh, I love these. My mother used to make them for me. Home grown

Gemstone,

What a love!!

How much does he weigh? He looks like he is on the small side.

A carrot lover -- that's funny! Home grown

Patty,

What is 1% WV brown dog?

That's too funny about the older dog jumping the fence just to show she can.

Pets give so much joy.

yummm cucumber sandwiches...

Looks like everyone is enjoying fresh veggies from their garden. Seems my veggie garden is just starting to get blossoms so I guess by mid August I should be enjoying some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers.. My son said the squash, watermellon, cantelope plants are huge, but so far only blossoms..

I've only seen my veggie garden once this summer.. Seems my son is staying at his house this summer and well his "witchy" girlfriend is there too, so I don't get over there often to watch my veggies grow. Guess it is obvious I don't get along with his girlfriend. ha.. What is it with mother's and their son's girlfriends? lol...... I only liked two of his past girlfriends. The one he has now, she is something.. She is the type if she gets mad, should they have any kids, she would not let me see them. She is pretty, but she has no personality or character. Dang how did veggie gardens turn in to my dislike of my son's girlfriend... Home grown

Salem is gorgeous! What a beautiful dog!

I love cucumbers...got to get me some. Coincidentally, we're going grocery shopping tonight! I love asparagus. I kind of had some yesterday, with a bunch of other vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, one or two other things), that came in a bag, with some pasta noodles in it. It was awful! It had almost zero flavor! I won't buy that again! I ate four slices of Velveeta cheese after that! I love Brussels sprouts. I've never had them raw, though, but that was mentioned recently when Rob Schneider was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel. Anyone had raw Brussels sprouts? Are they good that way? Not too hard?

Here's what I need to know, maybe you guys can help. What is the proper way to wash vegetables? Different kinds, I mean. My mom says you don't have to wash the whole lettuce, for instance. She says you should remove the outer leaves and wash the outer part of the lettuce, but you don't have to worry about getting inside to all those leaves. What about fresh Brussels sprouts? Do you just use water, or use a veggie wash or what? And what about fruit? You're supposed to wash them, too...what's the proper way for different fruits? Bananas? Oranges? Pineapples? Melons?

If you want herbs, you can get Chia Pet herb gardens, you know? I've never done it...but I'm sure everyone will talk about you if you do, LOL!

EJ,

He is about 90 pounds. He is pure muscle. He has always loved carrots!

Seeker,

Thats cute about your dog jumping the fence to show she can. Its good she doesn't eat the veggies. My little garden is so small I don't want to fence it. I would have to fence pretty high to keep the deer out anyway.

I guess I don't mind feeding the critters, but it would be nice if they would leave me something. At least they normally leave my tomatoes alone. Home grown
