Ive just had an amazing dinner. Cucumber, spring onions, peas and mint in creme fraise. I grew the cucumber, mint, onions and peas myself. Along with that I had boiled potatoes, tomatoes and lettuce, again all home grown. How satisfied I am. It was wonderful and i cant believe I actually grew my own dinner! All that gardening has been worth it. Home grown Home grown Home grown

Hmmmm - that sounds so delicious. Home grown

What's a cream fraise? How do you make it?

I love vegetables!!!! They are good with cornbread too.

Thanks for sharing.

That's awesome! I don't have a garden but someone at work gave me a zucchini he grew in his garden (organic, no pesticides). I like it raw in salad and am having it tonight.

Can't wait!

You know they'll take a while to grow back, don't you? And only if you take care of them. I bet you plan to eat them again, too, don't you, you vegetable masticator!!!

Poor veggies. Home grown

Y'all are funny! LOL
Allthegirls...zucchini is like a long green squash...I had some come up volunteer from where they were planted last year. And, EJ, I have the yellow crookneck squash. They are dying down now, but tomatoes are about to ripen!
I love a garden dinner, and my most favorite thing is to go out and pick a warm tomato ripened by the sun....And to think I almost had the garden seeded over with grass! Then the man who mows my lawn asked if he could plant a little garden there, and we're sharing it!
Yummy!

We have poblano peppers coming up now, but our tomatoes are slow this year. We don't have much else left except some basil. The deer and bunnys have eaten all of our herbs, and my dog pulled up and ate all my carrots! I wouldn't mind him eating the carrots if he would at least chase the other critters away!

Your garden sounds great girls. it's wonderful to eat stuff that you have grown yourself.

I planted petunias, but they never came up. I was going to take a picture and post it of my petunias, but I never could. Home grown My guess is because we have a drout here.

Salem wouldn't have eaten the flowers though. Just watered them. Home grown

The only thing you can grow this time of year in my neck of the woods are weeds. I have a bumper crop.

Jealous of all those who can grow their own.

Gemstone! What a cutie! I have 99% golden retriiever, 1% WV brown dog 6 month old pup! She's getting BIG, and I put a fence around the garden to keep her out! The other older dog jumps the garden fence, just to show she CAN!, but doesn't bother the plants!

My son and I have been talking about trying to grow some lettuce (the darker kind) for his reptiles and my critters, for the bag of lettuce we buy from the store goes bad before we can use it all up.

Any suggestion and or advice.................................... ?

Rhap!
I saw the neatest thing on a TV infomercial...It was an indoor growing thing that grew lettuce! I don't remember the name of the product...If I find it, I'll post or send you a PM! It was pretty awesome...a little mini garden with growing light and some sort of nutrients that fed the plants.

Rhap...I went to Google search and typed in "indoor lettuce garden," and got a lot of sites from it.
The "Aerogarden" is the one I think I saw on TV, but it is rather expensive...$149! You could buy a lot of lettuce and veggies for that amt!
