Do you ever get this overwhelming feeling to smack the living crap out of somebody/anybody?

Nope, can't say that I do. I don't like violence myself. Can't see where it really accomplishes anything.

((((hugs))))

just because we may feel this does not mean we have to act on it.

Oh You can bet I have felt like that plenty of times. Raising a teenager is a risk factor for that, I would think. LOL

I haven't smacked him yet but there have been times I have to go drive my car for 2 hours and regroup before I did smack the %#@&#! out of him (which I realize wouldn't have helped his attitude) but heck yes I have felt that feeling.

Oh yes.....everytime my husband pushes all my buttons at the same time. Fortunately, I haven't, but I have thrown things like ice water, wine, & a dish of oatmeal the other morning when I just had more than I could take.

Several times a few years ago when I was at my breaking point & he kept pushing my buttons, I would just close myself in my room & throw & break everything I could. It made me feel good while I was doing it, but afterwards, I felt guilty about what I broke.

Sometimes I think we just need to find a way to let out that level of frustration & physically doing something is usually the best way or me. When I was working, I would Smak the living caca out of the racquettball & that was such a wonderful feeling. I really haven't found anything that has been able to take the place of the racquettball & that's tough because I do need that physical outlet for my steam that builds up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated....they have those soft bats that one can hit with....punching bags....etc but I don't have a place for a punching bag in my new home....but then, he isn't going to be there anyway, so maybe I won't have the steam I have when I'm around him.

Oh yeah.........that's why I have a %#&@ list. Smack the living caca out of them

As a couple people mentioned, it's frustration. Frustration probably mixed with fear of losing control.

I've been married over 24 years and my husband has resided at the top of the %#&@ list several times.

Right now the "NEW" AT&T is rushing to dispose my husband at the top of the list. I have spent over 2 days emailing, chatting, and talking with 9 different "team" members in 4 different departments. I still cannot pay or view my bill online. The last email suggested I reduce my internet security level to low so I can use their site. GET REAL (yes I'm shouting) with all the crap on the internet these days, I don't think so. Guess they will just have to reduce compay profits by 41 cents each month and mail me a paper bill.

Enough said......sorry if I hijacked your thread to vent a little but I do feel better.

I haven't smacked anybody recently...occasionally I do smack my husband across his chops, but I think deep down he finds it arousing because we always have really great sex afterwards....yes we are quite dysfunctional.

I get the feeling to smack people and when I do it's usually important people, like my boss, or my professors. People like that. Occasionally I'll get the feeling to smack the church people who knock on my doors about once a week. I know their intentions are good and wholesome but I can't help but feel anger towards them. Odviously I'm angry someplace else and seem to redirect towards innocent people. Maybe I get frustrated with my toddlers and route the anger towards others instead...this would make sense.

Was my stepmother's mantra, "I'm going to hit you so hard it will make your head spin". I fear I picked up some of that impatience. As I get older though, I'm much better at taking care of myself and looking at the situation differently so I don't have to feel that way. Other people don't push your buttons if you make the buttons not work.

i kinda feel like... its okay to lower myself to that level every now and then lol. i never do smack the crap out of someone but i often feel that way.

im not sure if this is just a small town thing but everyone down here drives like 25 in a 40. and no one knows what a right-of-way is. sometimes they wont use any turn signal, sometimes theyll turn it on a mile ahead. its just full of bad drivers and that is a pet peeve of mine. so those people i often wish i could make them stop the car and slap them and say "READ THE SPEED LIMIT SIGNS YOU IDIOT!"

there are lots of people i feel like slapping. its very hard to grow up in the united states if youre not an idiot lol. seems like the only people who arent concerned with things and dont get mad are the people who have no clue whats going on lol.

thats why i like this bumper sticker i saw that says "if youre not mad then youre not paying attention"

I'm also trying to work on deactivating certain buttons so that people who appear to like hurting me dont. Or not as much. Mostly my dear family. There is no button they can push. Its like developing a "teflon" or similar.. coating instead of having skin that is more easily bruised and injured Smack the living caca out of them My stepmother was like yours, perna I hate writing people off, thats been one of my biggest stumbling blocks, I have given people who've hurt me too many chances to keep on hurting me Smack the living caca out of them What a freakin idiot I was Smack the living caca out of them But its about gravitating to what is familiar I suppose. sigh.

I have certainly felt like smacking the caca out of somebody but usually it is a politician in government or a teacher in the school system. Once or twice I wanted to strangle a few people because of stupidity, including myself. Smack the living caca out of them Smack the living caca out of them

{{{Fuzzy}}}

Do you have any older brothers Fuz? You don't have to write people off, you just have to not let them hurt you. My brothers were all older than I was and could put their hands on my forehead and there was no way I could "reach" them to hit them; their arms were longer. We were "connected" but they were in charge. My oldest brother is one of my best friends now :-)

I defintetly have felt the urge to smack the crap out of people.

Like the child abusers, rapists, people who murder people,
people who treat children as sex slaves, domestic violence.

Violent deaths to the poor animals. I could go on and on.

I will leave it in the hands of God. And keep praying for
safety for all people. Smack the living caca out of them Smack the living caca out of them Smack the living caca out of them

I get that urge. I have episodes where I get very irritable. I have never actually hit anyone. But sometimes it even happens in the supermarket if I am in one of those episdes and someone in front of me isn't moving fast enough-- I feel like jumping on them and shaking them and saying, HURRY UP. It often happens while driving, as well. Unfortunately I sometimes end up taking the anger our on some poor inanimate object. Once I wanted to smack the %#@&#! out of my pdoc so when I got in my car I trashed the inside of it-- threw CD cases, bottles of lotion, etc. Yes, I do have a lot of anger inside me.
