I just ran out the other day, my psychiatrist is out of town, his office -- to whom I have spoken a couple of times now -- has not called back to say that they can call in the refill, authorize a refill, authorize a partial refill, provide samples -- basically, they haven't followed up, as far as I can see. I haven't called the chemist, since this is a new dosage, and I don't have a scrip number for them.

Actually, I kinda wanna stop the Cymbalta anyway, so I'm not too upset that I'm out. My question, though -- especially after experiencing Effexor discontinuation -- is whether I'm likely to be more miserable than I can stand in a day or so? Anyone?

I do realize that it's too soon to know much, since it's so new, but hoping someone knows something.

Thanks.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I take Effexor XR 300 mg per day, and now I'm worried. What are the withdrawal symptoms?

Most antidepressants, the SSRI's, and similar ones like Effexora and Cybalta, have cautions regarding their abrupt withdrawal. It is usually recommended that patients taper them down than to just stop them all at once. Check with the doctor or pharmacist as to which is the best way to do this. Tablets MAY be able to be broken, or you may need new Rx's for smaller dosages of capsules. I always figure it's better to taper them than to risk withdrawal symptoms.

sometimes withdrawal can be pretty scary (withdrawal as in cold turkey, not the way doctors take it down.) You're dealing with brain chemicals, remember. Hallucinations come to mind, but expressly dizzyness, auditory and visual changes stuff like that.
