Yeah, I think this is pretty key. School was one place where the amount of praise I got from teachers was proportional to the effort I put in or talent I had. It was possible to get 100% on something. It felt less arbitrary and confusing than at home, where I could never be good enough.

ok...you know, if I continue to consume maple products I am going to have to buy supports for my computer chair. I wonder what the weight limit on this thing is?

Yeah, my mom loved my A average while talking to other people - she could point to me as proof of what a great parent she was. Meanwhile, in private, it was all 'oh you think you're so much smarter than me? You think you're better than me?'

There was more to that before, but I deleted it. No sense triggering people or being a total downer.

oh oh oh...MKAC...we went to do some trail riding in VT, but the stable had a weight limit posted that wasn't that much higher than I am (remember I am 5'10"). I was too freaked that they were going to make me step on a scale so we canceled our reservations.

So out of curiosity...what would be a weight limit for a horse?

My store had Naked juice, but not the green one. So I got a green one from Bolthouse Farms. It was okay. I really wanted the mango one until I saw it had mushrooms in it. Sconnie + mushrooms = stomach cramps.

Somebody to tell me to stop thinking about calling my therapist to tell him to rip up that damn list. Do you think if I asked him to, he really would, without reading it first? You know what, I'm not sure *I* would. If I were a therapist, and I knew how assiduously the client had been hiding this stuff, I'd probably read it before I ripped it up. Now I'm totally feeling like I don't trust him either way. If I ask him to rip it up, he's just going to read it anyway. So, I shouldn't call him to tell him to rip it up. right? Good gravy, I am making no sense. This whole list thing is poking me right in my crazy.

sorry peeps...i edited it.

Sconnie..Bolthouse is good, but a lot of it has dairy so you have to watch it. (dairy isn't good for a sick tummy)

MKAC..don't call. It will be easier after he knows, because then...well...he knows.

Wow the couch exploded with posts this morning. I will have to catch up at home tonight. The lecture I went to was amazing. All about how they grow food in compact urban settings with little or no fossil fuels.

Now I have to work on financials and then meet with a committee. yuck.

See you all later.

They can safely carry 15 to 20% of their body weight for long distances. 25% for shorter distances and at 30%, they start showing distinct signs of stress.

Horses generally range from 750 pounds (one of my small Arabians) to 2000 pounds (warmblood type horses). So the weight range they can safely carry varies with the size of the horse. It ranges from 150 pounds (rider plus tack) for a small horse, up to 400 pounds for a large horse. Their weight ranges are probably calculated with the size of their horses and the weight of their tack in mind.

Damn, there was a LOT of numbers in that for someone who doesn't like numbers, huh? I guess my love for horses outweighs my discomfort with numbers.
Thanks for this!

MKAC please don't tell him to rip it up.remember if it is this hard it is probibly something you should look at .it can only be good in the long run.i know it is uncomfortable now but do you think after it is all on the table it can start to be a bit less uncomfortable

I guess us tall girls need to find ranches with medium to large horses.

(ok...I know you are all guessing...the stable listed 200 lbs, I weigh about 175 lbs)
