I missed eating stuffing this year. I normally like it but my SIL added liver to it and I thought that was gross.

Adding flare to stuffing seems to be a thing now. I've never eaten liver by itself, but I haven't minded it when it has been an ingredient in a dish.

My mom used to put those mystery turkey parts into the stuffing. She thought we liked it and we didn't say anything out of politeness. Finally we told her it grossed us out. No more mystery meat

When she told me she added it-I didn't even have any. I just couldn't bring myself to eat it.

I can see why Jersey. It's kind of strange when you think about what you are eating.

My grandmother used to put giblets in her stuffing, and I always thought it was gross. Considering I've been a vegetarian since I was a teen, I never have to offend anyone by not eating their weird meat dishes...LOL

my sister made it from this really great bread she likes and it had celery and onion and I even think a little shredded carrot cause I remember orange and vegetable stock for flavoring. I thought it was good...but I enjoyed the "stove top" turkey flavored stuffing too

MUE sorry you have a migraine. I would find it so hard to concentrate on anything detailed with a migraine.
Thanks for this!

Thanks....

I am only doing the easy stuff....cuz you're right, RTS, I can't imagine concentrating on anything detailed right now. I keep wanting to get to making some earrings, but I know I am not up for it....I pull my materials out and then find other things to do....haha.

I bought a box of cornbread stuffing, wanting to try it, but then read the ingredients and found that it's made with chicken and chicken stock. UGH. No easy cornbread stuffing for me!

Trdle-I'm weird like that. Like for instance. I eat turkey and chicken just fine but won't eat it in whole pieces on the bone because then it brings too much attention to what I'm eating. Strange. Eh. Same thing with shrimp but it's already gotta be cleaned and tail off.

Since my parents just magically accepted my sisters being vegetarians, we have not had stuffing cooked in the turkey. I always wonder when my parents just accepted they were vegetarians. My dad used to make my sisters sit at the dining room table for hours (even sleeping there) until they would eat their meat. My dad used to make us eat sardines and my sisters wouldn't do it. I used to just eat it and then I would go to the bathroom and "get rid of it".

Jersey - I don't think that is weird. I really meant that meat can be gross if you actually think about it. I used to be vegan, but I strayed several years ago.

I remember being forced to stay at the table as well. But usually it was to eat the icky grey-green canned peas my dad always made.
