She is just making me feel guilty for not giving her more attention. It will be fine, I'll bring it up in T. She is a huge source of guilt for me and It became very apparent as of late.

She is 1 of 7 siblings, my only "full" sibling ( same mom and dad ), she is 3 yrs younger and thinks I am her mother, as I have always filled that role for her.

LOL....Good point, Lola.

I do end up realizing how much I enjoy having a new person's involvement....just that initial stage is so grueling. Depending on how I feel in my own life, sometimes I feel resentful. T decides when to bring on a new person - and the group is left with the responsibility of integrating them.

As much as it is important that we learn how to best utilize the experience of meeting someone for the first time - which applies to real life as well - I typically meet people when I choose, not when it's thrown on me.

Grr...Can ya tell I'm irritated? LOL

Oh....and part of me wishes that I would just not go tonight....leaving it to everyone else to do the work....but I know that would disappoint T, cuz there's already 2 members who are going to be out tonight, leaving 5 of us....and I'd feel badly with the burden falling on everyone else.

I know, its not on your time frame...but its the curve balls of life ( baseball reference for Sconnie, as she LOVES them ).... at least you were given notice. This person has issues just like everyone else in the group , hence they are joining, they are no better or worse, as a person, then you are. Perhaps you could see it from there perspective, it must be scary to walk into a group of people who are already integrated. Given the choice I'd rather be in your shoes then be "the new kid"... good luck
Thanks for this!

Very true.

Funny, cuz when I first joined, I was excited and quite lively....I looked forward to meeting everyone and jumped feet first...Unfortunately, I was then crushed by one particular member about a month later, and I shut down. It's been 4 years and I still haven't totally recovered...(although a lot has been gained)...*sigh*

Yeah, she's speaking at the biggest local university- UCF. That's why I'm so bummed. I'd love to catch a free lecture but I dunno when the next one will be, and if I'll be able to catch word of it.

She is! It doesn't matter if the tickets sell out here, I don't have the money for it and I can't justify anyone spending that much on me because that's half of a hundred $ and that's a lot of money. And that's money that could be better spent elsewhere. Bleh.
