Sensory room for when you're having a bad day and just wanna let loose.
I've been in one of these rooms before while touring a large residential center upstate. One would think that it would be too busy for people with sensory issues, particularly with a tendency to overload. However I found it quite calming.

CE - Woah. That's pretty deep.

Murray - Good luck on your interview! I'm in that scary place as well....haven't interviewed for a job since I was 21-ish...The interviewing process terrifies me...but the fact that unemployment ends on Dec. 29th scares me more, I think.

I've always wanted to be in one. They look overloading, but I can imagine it being so calming and centering. I get mesmerized by dark rooms with lights all around it...Bubbling, colored water things...etc. I think one of those combined with a lycra swing would make a sila-puddle of happiness.

I think I'd find it calming too. I could use a bit of that today. Too much going wrong! Need a bit of good luck desperately.

It also made me remember something I saw at a Yayoi Kusama exhibition. There was a completely dark room with water on either side of a narrow path, and the room was filled with lights.

Hey everyone....read last night's posts, and here comes the wiki lecture.

Breakfast is vital. You're body cannot stay in fast mode for longer than 8 hours. There is no way a person can loose weight without eating breakfast. Jerz is 100% right about metabolism shutting down. So...what do you need? Whole grain, fruit and protein. A slice of whole grain toast with banana and pb on it. An egg, some walnuts and a glass of juice. You can get really cheap whole grain generic bread...just make sure there is no added sugar. Eggs are cheap too. You can hard boil a dozen eggs and keep them in the fridge. Bananas are wicked cheap, and peanut butter is costly, but when you break it down by serving size it's pretty cheap.
Oatmeal...buy a large container instead of prepackaged sweetened servings. You can still microwave it. Add some pure maple syrup or honey. Greek yogurt is a great protein, again...try to get it plain and add your own fruit to sweeten it. If you really can't eat, pick up some whey protein and make a quick smoothie with some low fat milk (cow, rice, soy...whatever) and a banana. Heck, even a handful of nuts will go far. Even a pb&j sammie is better than nothing.

EAT BREAKFAST.

Good morning everyone. Wow, I love all the new couch decorations. Lola..thanks for the play area.I love it. Looks so much fun. My inner child will have to wear arm swimmies though. We don't know how to swim. LOL. The water doesn't look too deep.

Well, its Friday, right? Someone tell me I'm not dreaming and its really Friday. What a long week. Just 10.5 hours to go and I'll be home from work getting all cozy and finally decorating my tree.

Whole grain pancake mix. You can make the dry mix and use when you want pancakes...or you can make the pancakes and freeze them. Pop in the toaster in the morning. Watch that you don't uses too much butter on them, and dude...don't use fake syrup. You are better off with honey, agave, jam or raw sugar.

2 cps whole wheat flour
2 cps white four
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

When you want to use the dry mix:
1 cp mix
1 egg (or 1 banana) (or 1/2 cp applesauce)
1cp some sort of low fat milk (soy, rice, whatever...)

Replace the 5 hr energy drink...

Throw a mug of black coffee, some ice and a tbsp of whey protein powder in a blender. Add creamer/sweeten to taste. There you go, healthy breakfast.

I don't know about your husband, but sometimes it seems like my husband DOES think marriage involves competing and scoring points.

Morning, granite! What are you up to? I couldn't sleep and got sick of lying in bed. I've already cleaned up the kitchen some and made a coffee cake for breakfast. It probably has too much sugar to really be healthy, but at least it's a breakfast, right? And the kids love it.
Thanks for this!

I admit I skipped breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinking water, everything today. Not on purpose though. Rushed the dog to the vet in a hurry in the morning, the only space they had for the next few days. Then arrived out to see my horse was so much worse than the dog had been. Spent the rest of the day trying to get another emergency vet call out. He was so bad they were worried from the sound of it that he'd broken a leg. It looked bad. Suddenly realised at dinner time that I'd just arrived home and hadn't even stopped to drink anything let alone eat. Ugh.

I've lost two horses to broken legs, Nightlight. I am so sorry and I hope that isn't the case with your horse. If you want to PM me, please feel free. I was devastated when it happened to mine. It's what precipitated the really deep, dark depression for me.

He seems to have a REALLY bad abscess, but they were worried about the leg because it looks like he's had a REALLY bad fall too. There are weird scrapes all over him, that are quite big. Like along his spine, one right behind the wither of all places. He's on three legs and miserable, can't even inch forwards, so hope he pulls through okay.

I can completely imagine how hard it would be to lose one that way though My boy is 26 and I suddenly realised how NEVER ready I'll be, let alone for it to be like that. He's been the one things that's stuck with me for the last 11 years. So Fingers crossed!

((( Nightlight )))

((( Rainbow Rose )))

Wiki - Thanks for the info! I'm going to have to figure out something decent for breakfast today. I have eggs, but they kinda gross me out. I have pre-packaged cinnamon oatmeal - but whenever I have anything sugary in the morning, my sugar crashes a couple hours later. Hmm....Maybe I'll have some toast with a tiny bit of peanut butter. That's at least something!
