You don't have weirdo's in Sweden?

Melissa...there's stuff called Rescue Remedy that it pretty harmless, you spray it in your mouth...herbal. But always ask your doc first. I think a single benzo might work well for you too...just don't drink alcohol while taking it. Talk to pdoc, be honest with him. I am sure you'll find the best fit for your anxiety.

When I want a certain type of comfort food, thinking of my grandmother, I want creamed tuna on waffles or kraft macaroni and cheese with tuna fish.
Catholic lent sort of thing in the south with a family not into catfish.

We certainly do
But I still don't understand the jargon when you discuss American weirdos. It's not a complaint, mind.

For a certain type of comfort food I want just some regular Coke, no ice, and some plain saltine crackers.
That's what my Mom gave us when our stomachs were upset. It was a pretty rare 'prescription diet', but I felt cared for when she brought me that.

Never think that! There's room on the couch for everyone's needs.

However, if you are afraid that your post might get lost and ignored among the rest, I can sympathise with that.

It may have to, if there are no other takers.

I've thought that too. I wonder why it doesn't happen?

We have this support group, and I'm sure a great deal of mentoring happens via PM.

(My spelling checker doesn't recognise mentoring as a word. Doh!)

(Double Doh! Mentoring is in the American dictionary but not the English one. What's the equivalent English word, then, dictionary?)

I had a good day today. I got up early SHOWERED (I know... totally unbelieveable!) had some friends come over for a little while, went shopping and made 15 bean soup with ham for dinner. Does that earn me any Wiki points (the bean soup) I've never had any Wiki points before.

Skip work not therapy.

Another T-shirt slogan for the therapy accessory shop.

If that's the case, and you're gonna accept people that have lived in other places, I've live in LOTSA places! So if we're missing any other states, I may be able to help.

CE, I think you are right about the mentoring happening by PM a lot of the time. I know several people have, at various times, sent me PM's sharing their experiences with similar issues when I have been struggling. It has been enormously helpful for me.

It was hugely stressful and difficult. But also good and hopefully productive. I am perplexed about some things he said and need to think about it more. He uses the word trauma pretty often when discussing my childhood and has noticed that I do not use that word. So that was weird to talk about, and I reverted to the 'oh it wasn't that bad' stance. Whereupon he told me that the abuse I suffered was "if not the worst, certainly the top 3 worst" cases of abuse he had ever dealt with.

Oh, and for the first time, he commented on my dissociation in session. We discussed quite a while ago that he didn't really notice when it happened and he needed some kind of cue from me. Which I was never able to give him. So either he has gotten a lot better at reading me, or it was just much more obvious today.

Thank you so much for asking!
