Talk to your T. T should help you to work out how you feel.

Not harsh at all. My mother always made them with an electric mixer and they turned out great. Mine, not so much. I'll have to try using a ricer.

MKAC - it sounds like you are using too much water. Try 1.5 C of water to 1C quinoa.
Thanks for this!

Ack, ack, ack! I am about to catch up on the couch from the last couple of days, but I am letting myself post first. I just had my first group meeting, and all I can say is ack. I am going to go back next week, and try to give it a chance, but it was as awkward as I thought it would be. At least the people seemed nice. The very worst thing (in my messed up head) of the entire evening was that my phone was going off while someone was sharing. I ALWAYS have my phone on silent. I just forgot that I had an alarm on for myself to remind me to pick something up when I left. I'm so not used to hearing the phone I thought that it was someone else's when it started going off. Eventually I realized that it was mine, and turned it off. It's killing me now though. I apologized, and they said it was no big deal, but it is to me. This is the sort of thing that will embarrass me for the next year.

Talked to my friend and she buys the same brand and kind of quinoa. She says she never rinses or soaks it. I finally read the package and it says not to rinse or soak because it has already been rinsed. Sigh. Reading the package is always helpful. Not sure why I was so absolutely bent about that. I was having this weird rage reaction. Thanks for letting me vent and offering suggestions.

So I called t at 8pm and left a message on her office phone. I had an evening meeting at work and all hell broke loose at the end. Once that happened, I decided I needed to call. Between the anxiety and now this, I don't want to wait. So, I guess I will find out tomorrow when she gets the message. I am hoping she has something next week. With the holiday coming up, I am wondering if she is taking time off... Now I understand how waiting for t to call back can be so nerve wracking.

My Aspergers results are in, and I'm definitely Aspergic.

I'm surprised to find I am sad about this. Years of therapy hasn't changed my basic nature.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It takes time to open up to complete strangers. Also, as the last to arrive you're going to feel like an outsider for a bit. That's natural.

It will get better. Good luck!

I'll have to read the rest of the report. But it means I can go to an Aspergers therapist and they'll have a proper diagnosis to start from. The report mentions two in my area. They are both men. So maybe I'll get my next T quite soon.

Granite - Sorry about the dreams. Bad dreams do suck. I've been having nightmares about medical testing since my last t session.
