Hi couchies. Having a tough week. The case in Ohio is weighing on me and triggering me a lot. And a hawk clawed my hand this morning. He took exception to me taking him out of his cage for his meds. It's not bad, but it stings.

Hope all is well with the rest of you.

Back from group T....*sigh*

Another uneventful week for me. I said one thing early on in the session...and then didn't speak at all until someone addressed me at the very end. There were times when I had some reactions but just couldn't get to the point of formulating a response and expressing it. UGH. I hate it when that happens....and unfortunately, it happens to me quite often. Another wasted session. I wonder if it's even worth it anymore. *sigh*

It is a pretty cool gig. I wish I could get a paying job doing it instead of just volunteering. It certainly keeps my mind focused on other things besides my problems.

Tried the stupid quinoa again, but once again, it's a giant sticky mess and the little grain things DO NOT pop open like they are supposed to. This stuff sucks and I am incredibly, unreasonable ticked off about it. Even my most culinary challenged friend can make it and I cannot seem to get it to come out right.

HI all.
Day 3 without cigarettes. Starting to lose the jitters.
Critter: I used to wildlife rescue here. Only raptors I saw were Wedge-tails. I so loved working with them, all of the animals, even the pelicans.

MKAC: Just chill. I feel the same way about scones, I've resigned myself to the fact that I need to stick to cakes and biscuits.

Pelicans are cool, even though they smell bad and love to attack. About the only bird that smells worse are turkey vultures.

I love the place where I help out - we get everything from hummingbirds to bald eagles.

MKAC, if it makes you feel better, I can't make mashed potatoes to save my soul. I make glue. I remember one thanksgiving when it all clumped and I lifted the beaters out of the bowl and brought the whole_damn thing with them.
Thanks for this!

Well, couchies You are all full of good advice. I have a problem. Last night I went on a date. It was going fantastic, we clicked on so many levels, until my T's name was mentioned. Turns out my date is T's friend. Does this make a dual relationship? I just need to know as if I have to choose between the date and T, there is only one T.

I can't make dumplings. I've tried and tried. They are just globs of dough. Who can't make dumplings? Ike can't.

My T and I have spoken about living in a small town and bumping into each other etc. But not this situation. I actually feel so uncomfortable about I might ring and cancel my next date.

Cl - even I know you don't use beaters on taters. "Even I" as in, the main implement I use in the kitchen is the microwave. Use a ricer, use a smasher, use a fork! But not a beater. And let the taters dry and kinda reheat in the original pan and smash and mix them in there.

catching the end of hells kitchen.

Eta - I hope that didn't sound harsh. I actually read it somewhere once.

I would say, not a dual r/s. Let it die a natural death if it's going to die. If it's going to thrive, you will work it out.
