Somehow I got the idea my T was into that stuff, from PsychologyToday. She also had a website I could see.

Oh, this fits right into adel's new social group. I think there must be a way to find a creative arts T. I'm going to look into it. Or, try googling it. Or, I'll ask my T for you, granite. I really think it would work for you!!!

One way is Call up the ones who list the trauma/abuse (or whatever you are looking for) stuff and then talk to them on the phone about what has worked or not worked or how they approach stuff before the appointment. At least that is how I did it. IT weeded out some people before the initial interviews.
Thanks for this!

Do you see what you wrote???? 'I loved my T". If you continue to see her, this is important! In spite of your crummy last few sessions, you LOVE her. That's a huge insight, don't ya think?

I just googled creative arts therapy in Massachusetts. Check it out!! Lesley University has a program and they could give you referrals, maybe.
Thanks for this!

(((granite))) It's not set in stone. You can visit a few t's and if it's totally not doable go back to your T. She WILL take you back, I am certain of it. She won't be angry with you.

granite, my former T was a student still when I started working with him and he was really wonderful and good for me. He was flexible and when I told him his approach sucked eggs, he adjusted and tried something different. I would not necessarily rule someone out just based upon years in practice, but it's up to you of course. I hope this works out for you and you find someone AMAZING.

OMG. I just accidentally found XT's wife. She has an office in the town I am moving to. I know it's her because he talked a lot about her...well about her having a weight problem, a smoking addiction, 2 screwed up sons, and a history of sexual abuse. (she's a LMHC on the psych today site)

Gawd he told me way too much about himself. Ick. She's pretty though, poor thing, she can do way better.

Breathe chickie, breathe. Think of the possibilities! You love your t, this is good, but what if it can be better?

adel attended Lesley University. Maybe she can offer suggestions; I asked her. Hope that's okay. I want what's best for you, granite. You and I have come a long way together, even if was more in the past than now. You've done good work with your T, but you can do more with a different kind of T. Doesn't mean you're a failure, either.

(((granite))) The first 2 weeks are the hardest. It does get a little better after that though. I have been away from XT since last Aug...and I still want to call him, but not every day, or every week even. It gets better, I promise. Do you remember what a mess I was? I was drinking every night for a few weeks. We will be here for you NO MATTER WHAT though. If you stay or go.

This is a funny one:

When I was in Boston, I had this dark chocolate cultured coconut milk. It was incredible. i can't find it anywhere here. Now I am looking on line, but still can't find it. I wonder if it was a dream?

Granite, I would hate to think that the issues you're having with T will follow you elsewhere - because although part of it is T, part of it is also you. You know this. Running from T doesn't leave the issue behind and doesn't provide you with any closure or real understanding of what happened.

I feel so sick right now. I've spent the last few days feeling absolutely zero energy, nauseous, weak, tired, jittery.....and now I feel even worse, with the nausea especially...and chills (but no fever). I see T in 2 hours. I wonder if my body is just throwing me into illness to avoid doing work. It seems that every time I see T, I am ill - whether it's a migraine or something else. UGH.

I know. I turn into "D'artagnan" and hank pokes me with her stick and sets me right back. Cool. I am sorry I reacted though. I hope you all get that I was more reacting in defense of someone I care about than in anger.

Oh...and I wanted to mention that LAST NIGHT WAS THE FIRST NIGHT MY DAUGHTER AND I SLEPT AT HOME! WOOT WOOT!

It feels good to be home...except for the mess I came home to. *sigh* I'm working on it, though, in between bouts of nausea....

I just knew you weren't catching the adel connection and I just walked right up to ya and said hey. I would not have done that two years ago. My own fearfulness would have turned it ugly. So, pretty cool.

You know MUE, they have cleaning and organization services for people with health problems. Maybe thru NAMI or something? My friend got it, and they totally hooked her up.

Oh, *****!! Of course adel is on PC and she responded to granite in your thread! She also started the creative arts, etc. social group and is open about where she's from. I would never give out your email address, granite, or mention you to anyone not on PC!!!! You post here that you're from MA, and the Couch is open to everyone. I'm trying to help you look into creative arts T and try something new SOLELY because I care.

I'm trying to do my utmost to help! Wiki, I didn't see what you wrote but thanks, hankster, for clarifying it.
