Granite... you mentioned yesterday being worried about the not sleeping... has anything been going on lately? change in routine? change in medication? is this date, month significant in some way? could it be hormonal? interaction with FOO or other persons?

Could you call your T to discuss these feelings?

Life is a roller coaster, Granite. You've been very happy for a couple of days and now you are down again. That's the way it goes.

When I was recovering from depression, I became very volatile, with huge emotional swings. In some ways it was worse than the depression, which was at least stable and predictable. But I did regain some stability later, and at a much happier level.

Try to remember that you have been happy recently and will be happy again, maybe even tomorrow.

PS: I've posted this picture before, but it's especially relevant here.
This is something I drew when I was where you are now:

Couch 52 - Are you being served?

Mood swings are normal when you're on the road from misery to happiness.

My daughter left for DC earlier today. Just found out that I forgot to send the special team T-shirt and pins for exchanging with other students. It has already been a hugely stressful couple of weeks, and a hard day with H and our son. Our son had this huge ballistic fit about us not getting specific information about a scholarship he won (which he could have easily called about as well), so he was screaming and yelling about us, and then I actually did completely **** up helping my daughter pack and I feel like a horrible parent and a horrible person. Just devastatingly depressed and want to crawl in a hole and die.

I have faith in you.
You are a very good parent.
No family has perfect harmony all the time.
Children are hard work, and sometimes no one can do anything with them.
Parenting is not won or lost in a single day.
You expect a great deal of yourself.
It hurts when things don't turn out the way you want.

Thanks, granite. That is the plan, but no place was open by the time I found out, and no place is open tomorrow. So the fastest she gets them is Tuesday, and the opening ceremony thing is Monday night.

Hi Ike. Thank you for asking. Long and kind of yucky is the best way to describe my day. I was at work for 13 hours today which is completly on my feet. I'm glad that I was able to make some extra money, but there was a problem with the floor drains later in the evening. It started to get gross to me. The good news is that my knee seems to be getting better. I am a about to have a light dinner, and one glass of wine before I go to sleep.

How has you day been? I hope good.

Paul Simon. I always thought After the War was a strange name for a dog.

MKAC - I hope the shirt/pin thing gets worked out. Possibly with the pins, others can give her some of theirs to trade.

Trdl - glad the knee is getting better

RTS - why? Can't you sleep?

I have been drinking coffee and grading papers. Plus scary dreams (probably not up to nightmare category - but not the happy ones either) with my mother and the therapist in them for the past couple of nights. I don't want to go to sleep.
I have found I like percolated coffee iced better than cold brewed coffee iced. I despise drip coffee in all forms, and my morning moka pot or french press coffee is not particularly good iced either in my opinion.

Sorry to hear about sleep trouble, stopdog. Not sleeping makes pretty much everything worse.

I'm sitting outside a coffee shop waiting for it to open so I can get a coffee before choir practice which starts in 20 minutes. We're singing in the Sunday service today.
Thanks for this!

I hope the coffee shop opens soon. I know I could not sing if I had not had coffee yet.
I can't sing anyway, but if I was going to try to sing, coffee would be a must.
Thanks for this!

I'm back. Its 4am so I' having a little snack and going to bed.

Yes I couldn't sleep so I just kept washing load after load of laundry and the next thing I knew I had 4 loads of wet laundry and it was 2 in the morning... if I went to bed without going to laundromat it would smell funny by the morning.

My H is in one of his moods lately and even though its his stuff... it makes my anxiety high...

high anxiety = no sleep

Could you hang the laundry on a rack or line to dry? I don't use my dryer much and there are not 4 of us so perhaps that is why it works for me. I hang up everything in summer and all but towels and sheets in winter. I use racks inside and a line hanging in the basement. And a line outside when it is nice out.

Sorry you are anxious.
