long day.
Mani.
Pedi.
Tooth filled.
Picked up little one.
Starting dinner.

It's become a bit cold and windy, I think a storm is coming in. I turned on the fireplace for a little while to take the chill out.

MKAC - I am so sorry that this has happened in your community. When the Boston bombings happened last year I was shaken, but then I realized how many people were helping and doing good. Thru the year we've seen stories of doctors and nurses and all kinds of people offering free help for those who've lost limbs. There are way more good people than bad. Way more.

I would need a nap.

I have abandoned hot cross buns for cinnamon rolls. No citrus there. I used to make bread with my grandmother who was my favorite person in the world. It seems I am quite sentimental tonight.

Hankster- i hope the power comes back on soon. Not having it it is quite the pain.

Thanks. Its making me sentimental too - i feel like laura ingalls. Thats so cool that you had a favorite lady relative as a kid and did stuff with her. I had no grannies but my parents owned that grief. It was like i was supposed to be too modern and american to have a granny. It was weird - never spoken of. I had one grandpa who i saw 2 or 3 times a year and that was it. Not sure what i missed. Maybe t can teach me to make matzoh balls.

What I know about astronomy could fit into a very small thimble. I would have died quickly trying to follow the drinking gourd.

It will be too cloudy to be able to see it where I am.

I consider myself a huge Astronomy nut, which is why I have been really enjoying the Cosmos series airing right now.

I was afraid the lights of downtown would drown this out for me...but the moon is full and shining as we speak, the question is will I arise in 4 hours to see the beauty?

PS .. for anyone keeping score, its official I am moving once again, but this time the W is coming too.

I had one grandfather, too. My dad's parents died before I was born (his father died when my dad was very young) and my maternal grandmother died before my firat birthday. So my morfar (maternal grandpa) was my only grandparent. I liked him, but I only saw him a couple of times a year, and could not fully understand his dialect until I was maybe ten...

I had a substitute grandmother, though, an elderly lady who lived nextdoor to us. I loved her very much.
Thanks for this!
