I think I will say something to her I just need to figure out how so she doesn't argue with me. sometimes she does well if I tell her that I cant handle her arguing with me at this time .

I just want her to listen and maybe help me to understand better what is going on. how to accept what she is saying .

I know I type like I know no grammar, and I say I am a grammar flunkie, which I kind of am, but the parts of speech seem like basic stuff. I must say though, I can understand people who went thru hell as a kid not learning much in school. I think I poured myself into academics because I was watching all the crap that was going on in Southie and from a young age I knew I wanted out. I think I got in trouble in 2nd grade for writing a story about how awful Southie was and how I wanted to get away from the mafia. lol. The nuns were pissed that anyone say anything negative about Southie or their beloved Whitey Bulger. Ick. Makes me nauseous.

Speaking of Southie...Boston is in BLOOM. It's spring, the cherry blossoms are out in the commons. I wanted to go and hang out, but with this lame foot of mine that wasn't happening. Still waiting for bloom on the Cape. We're a little slow here. Hell, it was freezing hail just last week.

Eta...see how bad i am at that i probably should have said "played" instead of "was playing" good thing i work with numbers all day
Yep, "softly" is an adverb. It modifies the verb, and only adverbs can do that.

And there is nothing grammatically wrong with saying "she was playing the grand piano softly". It doesn't mean exactly the same thing as "she played" but both versions are absolutely correct.

....and in case there's anybody here who doesn't know what I do for a living, I teach English

Thanks for the joke clarification, btw. I have a sense of humour, I promise - I just couldn't parse that one. (Maybe because none of the Americans I know is the wasteful type of person?)

And I think I've mentioned this before, but I do have to shave my chin a few times a week to keep my beard from being noticeable, and I am vain enough to do that. But that's it as far as shaving goes, for me. (I find that a disposable razor tends to last a few months for me, but of course I only use it on a small area of my body.)

I'm very glad to hear that, RT. I know you've been going through a rough patch.

I'm hoping for a good session tomorrow. I only get one session this week since Thursday is a public holiday (May Day). Yes, I know twice a week is a luxury, but it's kind of a life line for me at the moment, too.

I have been going through some rough things with a friend of mine (even though he has a hard time acknowledging them.

Yay pdoc is over until july. It was supposed to be next week but he texted me and had me come in this week. He must have had a cancellation. Also ended up costing me less money - less time renting a car etc - so its all good.

Just did a shot glass check and I now have shot glasses from 32 of 50 states, only 18 more to go.

Also have shot glasses from 12 other countries.

Hmmm. I never thought about that. Perhaps they forget to throw the old razors away?

Got some tough non-love from T today. And tomorrow I'm going on a very difficult trip (difficult emotionally and professionally, not in terms of travelling thirty leagues in a donkey cart or anything like that.)

But T did say that he hoped I'll have a good trip. So he learnt something from the last time I was going to a conference, when I was so disappointed in him for not saying anything. And right now I'm actually quite relieved that it's a whole week before I see him again.

Hope all goes well, Mast. I'm pleased he wished you a good trip - I know how much that would mean to me too. I hope you enjoy your trip and wish you all the best for the conference. Take care.

"tough non-love"
That does not sound warm and fuzzy at all. I do hope you have a good, safe and peaceful trip.

Working at the clinic today, I have squirrel duty. I will be feeding tons of babies, sitting down. lol. At least I'm hands on.

ETA: another freezing, cold, damp, cloudy day. WHERE THE EF IS SPRING?

Home from work. I hate it. I feel so out of place there, esp as I only work part time. I have to leave early to collect kids from school and everyone makes comments about have a nice day... Enjoy your day. I am probably being over sensitive - the company hired me to work these hours. I just feel useless and not wanted - anywhere. T tomorrow.

That is pretty funny, Ike. One of my facebook friends created a tack room and put all the horse stuff from her truck, her car, her garage and her feed shed in one place. Her husband hit the ROOF and insisted she had too much stuff and should sell things. We all agreed that was a good reason to not have an official tack room.
