Wait til you've been here 15 years and you'd trade it all for chocolate digestives and proper sausages and brown bread that doesn't have molasses in it. And a decent cup of tea! And maybe a proper scone with blackcurrant jam. And potato waffles. And fat chips. And breaded cod. And Cheese and Onion Taytos. Okay, this could go on for a while...

I like pickled okra and okra in soups and stuff. I am not a fan of the slimey kind of prep methods, but there is one really great way to pan cook it with indian spices and it does not get slimy at all.

Tonight I keep running through my head all the stupid hurtful things T1 has said to me. It's been almost a year since I last saw him and about 18 months since I saw him regularly. Don't know why it's such as issue tonight.

It's odd but it's like I'm psychic... I figured out the reason he was coming to mind. Weird but now I can let it go....

The continuing Tale of Daisy: Adventure Mouse

Daisy lived in a large clear plastic container with her friend Sunshine, in the corner of a small blonde girls room. She had a tunnel, a cardboard box as a house, food and water, and a wheel.

Was Daisy content with allthis plus lashings of love from small blonde girl? Seems not. Daisy worked out that by standing on the roof of her house she could jump out of her box, which she did while the girl was otu visiting a friend.

The girls mother thought she better check on the mice as they had been a bit quiet. The mother looked in the box and couldn't see the mice. She lifted up the box and could only see Sunshine huddled in the corner, with no Daisy even after lifting out the shredded paper.

The girls mother went into a panic and ran and got the sister. A frantic search of the small blonde girls room turned up no Daisy, so it was extended to the hallway, the couch was stripped, turned over....no mouse. The search was just about called to an end when the mother walked into the store room and a small animal scurried across the room and hid behind a box. With the aid of the sister Daisy was secured and returned to her home with the mesh on the top.
THE END

This is how I spent my evening last night. Looking for a damn mouse!

Ok worried about this damn mouse it has been running on the wheel for about 18 hours now has not eaten and looks kinda thin. I've tried to look up the symptoms on the net but no vet seems to know what this is about. The mouse is not bored. It has plenty to occupy it's tiny brain. Any mouse experts here?

Would it be inappropriate to email debt collectors and ask them what part of "my income is protected under Social Security Law" do they not understand? Or should I just swallow my fear of the Financial Counsellor I have used before and see her. S he is way more scary than any debt collector.

I've only had hamsters, but I did have a male hamster who did the same thing when I left them with my parents for week. My dad actually took him to the vet and explained the hamster would run on the wheel for hours, stop and lie there and pant and then get back on the wheel and run some more. The vet looked at him for a while, opened the cage, took out the wheel and closed the cage and said, "Problem solved. That will be $35.00." [she didn't actually charge him. She just wanted to tease him.]

Anyway, small animals have emotions. He is probably stressed and trying to work it off. As someone else said, just take the wheel away for a bit.

And thank you for bringing up the funny memory of my dad. This same hamster was a tiny male, and I had him in with the large female while they were at my parents because the male was so young he was not able to breed yet. Also, I didn't mind if they had babies because I had friends who wanted the babies when they were born. Anyway, the male was starting to make an effort at breeding but was constantly in the wrong place. My mom walked in and caught my dad with his hand in the cage, trying to help ease the little male around to where he was supposed to be to breed. hahaha. Dad said the male was trying at the female's ear and Dad felt really bad for him. Still makes me laugh to think about it. Dad joked he was going to buy the little guy some hamster porn.
Thanks for this!

Hi couch friends.. still trying to hold everything together. Sunday was bad for me, return of lots of old thoughts and plans, etc. Spent from about 12pm until going to bed that night in my bedroom hiding from the world. Monday morning, I woke up and found all the necessary paper work to file for Divorce in my state.. Its actually way more convient than I thought.. all the paper work that I need is right there. Next, start filing it out. Oh, and tell husband about it as well.

Yesterday, I also brought my almost 5 year old son back to the doctor for a follow up appointment. He is not compltley potty trained at almost 5 and is having accidents almost every day. We also have seen an increase in behavioral problems with him. So, the doctor is who is wonderful finally said we will do the medical testing just to be sure there is nothing medical going on right now, that would cause accident issues. However, she said all of his problems in general are beyond her scope of experteize and referred us to a Child Psychologist. The t we agreed upon is somebody in my T's office.. I have heard great things about him. However, I am feeling like such a stinking failure right now, that I can't handle anything on my own. My life- I need a t. My marriage - I need a T (and that didn't work, and now one of my own kids- we a need a T.

I just ran across this picture and thought what a wonderful room for the couch. I see a bunch of us could use the soothing effects of a spa right now.

well darn it pictures half the time don't work for me. it is a beautiful one though. Big picture window with a floor to ceiling fireplace and a whirlpool spa right
in front of it. oh well it was a good thought anyway.
Thanks for this!

I swear. 3 years of therapy (this go-around) and I still can't ask for help w/out bawling like a baby. Spending this morning on the phone between dr and insurance company trying to get a prescription approved for my husband who is miserable w/out it because his previous prior auth expired mid-September and we can't afford to pay the cash price for the med. The really sad thing is that I work for a division of said insurance company and know why it's so hard to get this done. Because they don't know their ***** from a hole in the ground, that's why. Ugh.

Healed... I'm not judging just saying it from seeing a friend and sister go thru this... Please please see an attorney (even if just a free consult) to make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you say anything to H. My friend did paperwork herself and got a big surprise she wasnt expecting.... (involving custody).

Not saying its not a good choice just to be prepared for the ramifications...will you lose job? Some teachers have a standards of conduct clause especially where you work? My sil had a decentcy clause that prevented her from living with someone not married to in her public school teacher contract..
