i also need to shorten a pair of jeans today. don't feel like doing that either. just want to hang here and distract from having to go to T today and worried i wont talk. especially after last time we met she made the comment "now that you are talking more" the expectation alone terrifies me

Pass the blanket.

My T's office doesn't have a blanket or pillows but I shake a lot sometimes and it would be nice to wrap up tight in a blanket.

i brought my own fluffy blanket to wrap up in when i panic in T.my T asked me to bring it in . i keep it there in a bag in her closet . no one else uses it . i used it for the first time on my own last time we met . i was so panicked that i was going to bolt and it just hit me that i had my blanket in the closet. i aasked if i could get that instead of bolting . going to get it gave me a chance to breathe and look around and then wrapping up gave me a small amount of comfort. i think the small break as i went to get it was more helpful .but i do like my blanket

I think it's bodily fluids that I fear more so than germs I can't see.

I would take public transportation if it would go where I needed to go in a reliable fashion - sadly here in my area we have such a car culture that very little money gets put into making PT better.

Is it odd for people to talk on the bus? Even I have struck up conversations on PT.
Airplanes make some people super chatty (I usually sleep, but a lot of times my seat mates will strike up a conversation at some point)

I used to take the train to work sometimes when I lived in the Bay Area. I would have to leave the house half an hour earlier to get there at the same time though so it was kind of a nuisance.

I don't even like talking to people I know. Drives my T crazy. Beeee oooopeeeen he says at every single session. :P

I don't know what I'll change my title too. I've got a little over 1500 posts to think about it though

This. I'm never sure what kind of response they're expecting or why they decided to talk to a stranger in the first place. Stressful. I've learned over the years how to deflect this and/or people don't do it like they used to. Or I'm not a young thing any more so they just leave me alone. Do love my eavesdropping though.

lol i get that . i have to say my T is very patient with my inability to talk . or willingness. although she did make it tough for me to communicate with her any other way . no e-mail,no text,no snail mail. if i wrote her a letter she would not read it unless i did it also. if i wanted to communicate i had to talk. it has been tough but as i am trying to talk more she seems to be loosening her boundaries a bit . like she will now read stuff i bring her without requiring me to read it .but i do need to be willing to talk about it. if i e-mail her she will now say she got the e mail and we can talk in session. but wont bring it up unless i do. i have always been able to call during office hours

I'm completely fine with talking to strangers. It's when people start wanting to be close I get scared. I'm very friendly, as long as you don't want to be friends. Problems. I haz them.

Speaking of which, I've been on here less than 24 hours and I already have increasing social anxiety. No need to try and fix this, if that impulse arises. Just saying.

Talking to strangers on PT is socially inappropriate in this country - unless something extraordinary happens, or you are offering your seat to someone, or you see somebody droppping something. But striking up a random conversation with a stranger is not really done.

I am on a sausage making kick this week. Filling the casings was a challenge at first, but now I think I have it down. Meat bag delivery for all my friends this weekend.

Some I will smoke - I don't have a cold smoker - so I have to make sure they are cooked through for the food safety concerns. It will have too do a couple of other things to the smoked ones. Bags of meat are less welcome, I have found, when they carry a more than usual chance of severe food poisoning.
