My team won. Yay!

My toddler is up too damn early. I slept 5 hours. So. Tired.

Yeah... Both mine are up now. I didn't get enough sleep. I wish they'd go back to sleep.

LOL yep... This is what it's like where I live. And even if the buses can't run and they finally call a snow day (incredibly rare) they still open the schools.

When the question Would you rather be or do X (right is often used here) or would you rather be happy/etc - very often my response is that right at this moment I would rather be X. And I might always think X is better.

Around here, we get snow days even for little bits of snow because no one knows how to drive in it and our agency does not have much skill in the way of plowing.

Interesting that our word for "snow day" is "snow day" - looks like we use just the one word for everything! i dont know why, that just struck me funny right now. Instead of 900 words for snow like the Eskimoes, we have one word and it means everything! Now That seems ridic!

today i feel like the luckiest person ever. one of my deer friends who i felt was lost to me do to my recent .bad behavior reached out to me this morning asking if i wanted to get together with a bunch of my crafting peeps i thought would now hate me . even after she heard what i did she stuck behind me saying i was not in the wrong and to not worry about it it doesn't matter. although i know how i behaved was unforgivable and rotten and i could have been more graceful in how i accomplished this .i need to get toxic people out of my life . maybe things will work out in the end and the people who are here make me feel like the luckiest person ever

Us, too...and we close school ahead of time before we even get it but it is predicted.

I've never heard of schools closing because of snow, here. I looked it up, and apparently it can happen, when buses are cancelled so the kids can't make it to school. But I think it's more common down in the southern part of the country.

You know that "the Inuit have x number of words for snow" is a myth, right?

Anyone got an IV of coffee handy?

I'm in the midwest, but the storm didn't hit us. It's been a rather brown winter here, though I have a bit of snow on the ground. It makes it hard for me to be like "Let's fix climate change" because eh, well, I'm okay if FL goes under water (juuuuust kidding).

We are usually hardcore in these parts about the snow.. as we are used to it. However, the negative wind chills are something they take seriously because our school district has a lot of kids who walk to school.

Us too. Last year they closed the schools for like seven days due to windchills.

Closing schools because of wind chills sounds a wise move. You don't want to mess around with frostbite.
