'85: "We Are The (Couch) World..."

I like my blanket .I hope it isn't looked at as funny .I must be overly sensitive about things. my blanket helps me deal.

(I still sleep with a collection of stuffed animals. Every night.)

I cannot sleep with the sheets or covers tucked in at the bottom of the bed at all. I have to untuck them if we go to people's houses or hotels. Both of my feet HAVE to be out. Every once in a while, while camping in freezing temperatures, I put my feet under the covers, but it is hard to sleep that way.

I behave similarly when people just play and trap or try to tickle my feet. I had to tell boyfriends to NOT do it and if they did, don't gripe about it if I actually lashed out. One boyfriend persisted and I kicked him really hard in the head. He was pretty angry because he was just playing. My H has never tested it, but just accidentally triggered it over the weekend. I am feeling pretty badly about it because he was trying to get off and fix it, but I still kicked him and shoved him really hard. He felt badly because he said as soon as he did it, he knew it was a mistake and he was sorry for panicking me.

Granite, please believe me that I do not think it is weird at all. I know a lot of people are like that about blankets. I know my 'lash out and kick' is weird. Especially when my husband is the least likely person on the planet to ever abuse anyone.

I'm starting to think that no important relationship can ever be closed, not even by [their] death. An ex is for life.

I wrote her a "final" letter last year, and opened her reply in January. I've sent her some flowers for Mother's Day which will be delivered in May. It seemed like a good idea at the time. [We're still fighting a passive-aggressive battle to get the last word.] If I can't stop cold turkey, at least I can cut down. It was generous of her to write to me at all without being paid.

In fine weather (literally), I sometimes feel a desire to see her, but when the clouds come, I remember why it's not going to work. [Our relationship was sicker than I was.]

Yeah, generally all four year olds do preschool in my area. There are free programs with lottery systems to see what school with prek your child will go to. My kids went to private preschool and we had to pay, only because it made more sense as I work in the same school.

Did you try screaming too? Sometimes it surprises them enough that they'll stop...

I'm actually quite content with that fact. I've never hid that ever. Stuffed animals are awesome.

A few of my daughters friends think its ok too. I used to feel like quite a freak tilI remembered no-one seesinto my bedroom.

I have to get a handle on my anxiety and take my Ts mindfulness cd back. He wont be there so I feel a little nervous about going as the other T who is there is really quite scary, when she has her glasses on she looks a lot like my mother *shudder*

It's funny... I've never felt any shame in admitting that I sleep with stuffed animals.

Hmpf. The stbx would have me get stuff for him because he didn't want to make himself get up. Then he would try to tell me that it was his way of saying I love you. Sorry jerk. Logic FAIL.

I just read all 12 pages of the couch that I missed while I was gone today!

I have the book "Quiet," but I have yet to start it.

I had a tantrum in the mall once when I was like 4 and my mother walked away and left me there...brilliant parenting (not that this is shocking to me or anything...it really isn't).

I don't remember it, but my mother's descriptions of how she handled the two tanrums she reported I had, would not be considered pc today by any stretch of the imagination.
