Once you are someone's lawyer, then dont you both have certain legal protections and or obligations? So you want to make sure its a formal relationship recognized by both of you. Like a couple of weeks ago when Finn asked Clarinda for a dollar retainer on The Good Wife.

I don't know how helpful he was. He scared me certainly. It bothers me that he takes it as a given that I would have a lawyer... I've spent enough time scraping myself off the bottom of the barrel to know that nothing is a given.

My T hooked me up with a good doctor because his cousin is a doctor and I was having trouble looking for a specific specialist.

To be clear, the specialist isn't related to him. His cousin just knew a good specialist in my area.

It was helpful.

There is a difference between legal advice and legal information (Legal info like - the statute is section 333/you need form XYZ, go to courtroom 11 and get the document from the clerk and so forth). The disclaimer - I am not giving you legal advice is to protect lawyer or legal staffer and lay person. We often have to remind students that they cannot practice law and not to try giving legal advice to passers by.
When someone asks a random question - you don't want to give them legal advice because you don't have all the info to know if the advice is correct or not, certain privileges attach when someone is a client, and other reasons.

Im surprised youre not watching The Good Wife. Its a tv drama about the wife of a cheating politician who goes back to work as a lawyer. The character Clarinda is a hoot because she is a typical privatd investigator break your kneecaps type brute, only instead of huge hulking andbald, she is petite miniskirted and lesbian.

Also christine baranski is on it who is one of my favorite actresses. And mostly the boys are just yummy!
Thanks for this!

The rule is, you can always ask. But I agree: a T may not be the best person to recommend a lawyer.

The Good Wife is one of my favorite shows, although I didn't start watching it until recently, so I had to marathon watch the first seasons...it's awesome!

I got my sneakers all grass stained. I forgot to change shoes before I cut it. This is so annoying.

When I was a kid I used to cut the grass barefoot.

good lord - that is more dangerous than blow torching.
I don't like going barefoot for anything so there is that.

Me, too. I did everything barefoot. Still do although I have quite the shoe collection/obsession.

I consider myself quite bold and throwing caution to the wind when I wear teva sport sandals. It always take a few days in the summer before my feet feel safe in them.

I'd live in sandals and flip-flops year round if my feet wouldn't get cold in the winter. I'm not one to go barefoot anymore except inside the house. Now when I was a kid, I did everything barefoot all summer (not sure how my feet survived the hot pavement and rocks; must have had hobbit feet).
