Almost 3:30am and I am still awake. I was syncing my iPhone with iTunes and downloading more songs from the apple store to my computer. I am now syncing my iTunes to my "old" iPod (it is a 2nd generation iPond nano). Yes, I rarely upgrade. My iPod is 8GB and that is about 2000 songs, and I do not have THAT many.

Think I had too much caffeine today (it normally does not bother me). I am wide awake and it is almost 4am. Oh well, I have no plans tomorrow.

iPod done syncing (only took 50 minutes). I am now listening to some Bon Jovi. After I get through those songs I will probably switch to Rolling Stones or Guns and Roses.
Thanks for this!

so as it turns out my son has really messed up his knee big time . it may never be the same .he is looking at almost complete reconstruction of his ligaments and tendons . he tore his ACL, meniscus, his medial lateral something or other ,and some other tendon. what was not torn was pulled and sprained. he has massive bone bruising do to the tears and unstable knee. do to the huge amount swelling the surgeon cant touch it . so he has to go to PT now to get the swelling down and get the knee in shape for surgery. he is looking at surgery in september. after that he has a 9 to 12 month recovery time .

Morning couch. I finally went to bed about 4:30am, then woke up on my own at 8:30am. I laid in bed trying to go back to sleep, but couldn't so I finally just got up. I am now up on less than 4 hours sleep. Oh well, I should sleep well tonight from it.

The knee thing sounds rough -but for what it is worth, a couple of my friends have had knee reconstruction and although it was a somewhat lengthy recovery period (and one of them kept trying to show everyone some creepy damn video of the knee surgery) - they are doing well now.

While I wouldn't show anyone a video of my surgery, after my experience last fall, plus the stories about people putting their cell phones on record during surgery and catching the OR staff making fun of them, I think all surgeries should be videotaped.

Not that that will ever happen.

I am not anti videotaping them at all. I am anti me watching them. I was terrible at personal injury law because I hated looking at the injury- I get all squigged out by medical stuff. For some odd reason - photos of dead guys and such are not a big deal (public defender work) - but watching a surgery makes me queasy.

Sometimes I am thankful I grew up with parents who often had bones (mostly fake) lying around the house. Or left their medical journals open to graphic photos of injuries or organs gone wrong. We all ended up not minding the sight of blood or injuries.
Thanks for this!

There is a reason we have skin.

I am fine if I have to do something - like take care of my person when she has had surgeries etc.

Kind of too bad I was not good at personal injury - I am poorer for my queasiness.

I've seen my foot while it was dying and rotting away while still a part of my body. I still can't stand the smell of rotting flesh.

My personal troll informs me every day that I am stupid, mindless, unethical, and a waste of space (though he calls it "waist of space"). A week or two ago he called me a "waist bin" many times, which was a bit amusing.

Anyway, today I know he is right. Not going to go into the reasons why, but I know.

Trolling. It really works!
