I like gel pens.

At my school, we can get office supplies, but ask the IT department for a longer cable or an extension cord and they act like you are requesting them to scale the himalayas to get a rare, possibly mythical, and very
dangerous wild animal.

Random: I won a canvas tote bag with our company logo on it at a meeting today, they always do a raffle to encourage people to come to the meetings lol

Not so random: it is officially wine o'clock!!

The new tote bag will be useful for carrying bottles of wine home from the supermarket in.

New cat loves playing with balls. She chases them around, catches them, then lies on top of them. Lies there for a moment, then starts to look around for the ball. Finally looks under herself and - oh! there it is! And the cycle starts all over again.

How is newly appointed senior (junior) cat taking to the intruder?

He seems...puzzled. And often looks at me as if to ask, "what is this strange bundle of manic energy you have brought into our humdrum, peaceful lives?"

I have been relieved of a big mother-guilt today. My son had a dental check up again at long last (i let my own fear of dentists keep me from getting him in for a checkup) this morning - no cavities, thank Goddess, and my h sprung for the $99 laser teeth cleaning since it had been so long instead of the one insurance covers.

Also, I called one of the LPC's recommended by my insurance for him to see, and scheduled his first of 5 free sessions through our EAP (employee assistance program). He's going a week from today. I have worked my way through my guilt about all of that. And remain proud of him for asking, and thankful that we have the kind of mother-son relationship where he felt comfortable asking me to get him an appointment.

And it's Friday, even!

Hugs to those who want them!

Now this raises an interesting question...shouldn't a group of swimmers competing against each other not be called a field (even though everyone does)? Shouldn't it be, like, a pod or something?
Thanks for this!

Not unless they wear frickin' laser beams while they compete

I've never seen a swim won by that margin. That was crazy. We were out at a restaurant eating with the family and the whole restaurant was going nuts.

Thank you.
I've been sleeping rather badly for some time and that makes minor things seem much more, er, major.

Morning couch! (or, evening depending on where you are.) I have been remembering dreams like crazy this whole week, and I'm loving it. Even the nightmare, cuz as my t says, nightmares are just our psyche trying to get our attention. I'm typing them all up today, and then will spend some time working with them to see what I can learn from 'em. Already got a load of laundry in this morning and thinking it's time to go rustle up some breakfast, I hear the tv's have come on in both my bedroom and son's, so that means they're both awake....
