I generally hate gender stereotypes, so I appreciate Crocus' view on this. My therapist suggested a doctor for me, and after I looked this person up, I blew a gasket over the way the practice catered to a specific idea of woman that I find alienating.

Art, maybe you can get your therapist to show up and settle this for us.

I like watching the olympics for the sports but I want to kill every announcer/color commentator. I end up watching about 3/4 of it on mute.

A friend posted this: "Protip for those of you watching the NBC Olympics: if you are using the NBC sports app, in the bottom right hand corner there's a headphones icon. Touch it to see alternate audio options, such as Spanish commentary. Most importantly, there is an option for "No commentary".

Am I the only person who finds IKEA directions incomprehensible? Guess I'm more a word person than a picture person.

If SM were here, she'd have this done in 10 minutes tops.

Who needs instructions? Can't you just visualise what the end thing will be and build it? Dead easy. I built a 100 piece doll house with the aid of a photo taken sideways. This is my super-power. That and judging distance and area but not in metric. I can also smell out diferent types of wood.

Tell us which piece it is, we'll look it up, and we can put it together by committee. All the drawings are online. Youre never truly alone. We can even be with you when junior cat washes your back...

I am stupid. I was trying out the voice control on my new phone and tried to call my D. T's name is the male variant of my D's name and because I tend to swallow the ends of words. I called T 3 times beore I gave up and just used the keypad.

I can't even build things right the first time with instructions!! I've had to take things apart part way through to correct what I swore I had done right.... oh and I always insist kits are missing pieces. Of course they never are.

I have had two IKEA chairs (identical) sitting in their boxes since May. I can't figure out from the diagrammed instructions how to put them together. Simple design. I didn't think it would be a problem. Had already gotten rid of the chair they are replacing. Sounds like I'm not alone...

H just left for a job, and son isn't home yet, so I have an hour to myself. Yay! I think I shall go take a bath and pretend I am swimming. Since I can't use the pool. Because of the vandals/huns/Ostrogoths, you know.

Hemnes, 2 drawer dresser. The one with knobs on the drawers. I bought two of them, to double as bedside tables, and I'm still on the first one.

Also I've reached the point where I need a hammer. With any luck there's one in the car.

Im telling you im a whiz. I put together their canopy bed which supposably needed two people. Ha! Or one hanksta!! Pm me!

Hint: first you line up all the screws and stuff. Some of them will be very similar, but if there is a tiny difference, make sure you have them counted out right. Lets do this!

I have an inversion table I have yet to put together...it's been almost 2 years, and I am sick of looking at the parts. Pretty sure it's a two-person job & if I recruit my dad or best friend, it will most likely end in an argument (dad) or tears/disaster (bf).

Things are getting bad. I already called my T , then she called while I was working on a horse, then I didn't call back because I'm drowning in dark thoughts, now I kind of wish I had called back and I'm still drowning in dark thoughts. I don't know what to do

As the great philosopher Yogi Bera said, when you come to a fork in the road, take it!

(Or has Una already done this quote?)
