I suppose I could write a symphony or a book. But I'm feeling materialistic at the moment. Retirement and travel cost money, and I don't think I have what it takes to start a business.

My secret dream is to be rich!

I'm finding being away from home + in laws + entertaining children when it's raining increasingly difficult. I haven't really missed seeing T and I'm grateful for the coping skills session we had before I left, but jeez it's still hard.

I hate myself so much.

I'm completely alone. And it's what I deserve. I wish I knew a way to punish myself that didn't result in physical damage. I am worthless. It hurts so much.

Siblings wedding photos came back.
All of the photos of me make me hate myself even more.
Seriously, could I look any more gross?

I had a horrible day. Work was a bear, as usual. Heard a disturbing fact from an acquaintance to do with her husband's infidelity. Heard of a coworker's daughter being bullied on the bus. Heard of another coworker's brush with cancer. I could really use some good news right now, I think I'll go watch a comedy or something. Happy Friday couch.

Well. That session was super sucky. My T is going away for a week of course now so we can't work it out. Sometimes I feel like no matter what happens she blames me for it

Holy crap -- just saw a potential new T today whose informed consent form starts (very first paragraph) with language about how there's no miracle cure and that depression, anxiety, anger, extreme discomfort etc may come up rather intensely etc. Of course, it does then go into the usual T language about how client needs to be engaged blah blah.

But, still....wonder how common this is -- am pretty sure current T's informed consent form didn't have any such language.

Afternoon, couch! Well, my son just got home from his first therapy session. He stated to me when I asked "How'd it go?" He said it went fine, but "now I know what you mean about feeling foggy after your sessions". I have a multiple-page form to fill out before he goes back on the 27th.

I don't know how I feel about my son being in therapy. Proud of him for being self-aware enough to know he needs it, proud of him for asking to go, but also concern for him, and of course guilt that he needs it. I'm mostly pretty much over the guilt but it just hit me again when he got home. But it's just a feeling too, and I have learned well how to work with my feelings, so I'll be letting it go here shortly.

I have no hope for the people who betrayed me. They will never be mature, will never know honesty, will never be loyal or know what it's like to have a real friend. [A real friend is not someone you mock others with btw..dah...grow up already]

Too bad for them. They can take a flying leap....

She's a princess. They can wear what they like and people won't talk them out of it - remember "The Emperor's New Clothes"!

See, poll idea. Although I don't get the impression the informed consent form stays in most clients' memories. I think No. 3 had nothing like that, No. 1 had something like "therapy is beneficial for most people" and No. 2 had "people in therapy may come to decisions that others in their lives do not like."
Thanks for this!
