I posted a photo of my work drawer to my private instagram, titled "my coping tools". Mainly for my two friends (they live in the US, I live in Asia).

This is the "Black Lives Matter" vs "All Lives Matters" debate in a different form.

And you are right. "A person is a person" is easy and complacent answer from one who wants to pretend that discrimination does not exist.
I found this. Kinda mad my T doesn't think Lgbt training is needed.

2.01 Boundaries of Competence*
(a) Psychologists provide services, teach and conduct research with populations and in areas only within the boundaries of their competence, based on their education, training, supervised experience, consultation, study or professional experience.

(b) Where scientific or professional knowledge in the discipline of psychology establishes that an understanding of factors associated with age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language or socioeconomic status is essential for effective implementation of their services or research, psychologists have or obtain the training, experience, consultation or supervision necessary to ensure the competence of their services, or they make appropriate referrals, except as provided in Standard*2.02, Providing Services in Emergencies.

(c) Psychologists planning to provide services, teach or conduct research involving populations, areas, techniques or technologies new to them undertake relevant education, training, supervised experience, consultation or study.

(d) When psychologists are asked to provide services to individuals for whom appropriate mental health services are not available and for which psychologists have not obtained the competence necessary, psychologists with closely related prior training or experience may provide such services in order to ensure that services are not denied if they make a reasonable effort to obtain the competence required by using relevant research, training, consultation or study.

(e) In those emerging areas in which generally recognized standards for preparatory training do not yet exist, psychologists nevertheless take reasonable steps to ensure the competence of their work and to protect clients/patients, students, supervisees, research participants, organizational clients and others from harm.

Hmm, I gotta set myself the goal of buying the rest of the winter gear I need to visit my SO in Scandinavia.

I wish I knew how to knit. I want a wool beanie with inbuilt ear muffs with a Rebel Alliance symbol motif pattern lol.

Hi couch. I'm so sick of doctors and medical stuff. Only had bloodwork this morning but I'm soon going to have to see PCP, endocrinologist, and Pdoc. Think I have urinary tract infection, blood sugar is high, and am crazy paranoid. I feel like an old person going to all these doctors. Oh and I have to see the cardiologist in a few months too.

@QM: Why do you have to pay for your brothers therapy? Sorry if I missed something there... Sorry for what you're experiencing right now. I'm sure your T can handle your anger. From what I see here, you're not a lousy supporter at all...

@Butterfly: Hope you get well soon.. . Could you offer any distraction (walking, games, ...) to your children?

Hugs to everyone I missed, too.

I really want to fly to NY (or any other city in the USA)... It's just so damn expensive (I'm living in Europe and not even in the UK, so)
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try anything.

I'm about to play little tennis and work on my serve. I had a busy week and this is much deserved. Hopefully I'll do well and my opponent won't rub it in my face like last time. Lol

Look on Etsy. You can find nearly anything there. I found a crocheted fly bonnet for my horse with a unicorn horn and glitter all over the ears

Judging by the pain, I seem to have slept with a clenched jaw and grinding teeth all night. Of course, I also vaguely recall a couple nightmares about future ex, so that might explain it.

I dreamed I was sick last night only to wake up this morning to discover it wasn't a dream. LOL! So, I've been home today and will be tomorrow. Sick stomach, horrible headache, kind of dizzy. Fairly certain another soprano in the chorus gave it to me. Why do people who have been sick not quarantine themselves during rehearsals? It is easy to do. Just sit out in the hall instead of in the choral terrace. Oh well. Staying drugged on Zofran today and hope to return to work Friday.

I have spent the last twenty minutes trying to get to sleep, but instead I've been wondering why the little boy who lives down the lane deserves his own bag of black wool.

If anyone has any thoughts, please feel free to share.

Okay. You challenged an English teacher to research the origins of a nursery rhyme. Here you go:

The Real Meaning of Baa Baa Black Sheep

It's about a wool tax in 13th century England:

"Who was the little boy and why did he cry down the lane?

The little boy represents the poor farmer who wasn't happy at paying the king's 66% tax on his wool.

The three bags of wool represented the three lots of one third.

One for the master – King Edward I

One for the Dame – The Church

And one for the little boy who cries down the lane."
Thanks for this!

Ah, I see.

I saw it as, I think sometimes, for one's own self, such a question is useful. That something can be refilled may not answer the question one is asking in the bigger picture. Sort of like it is not always better to light a candle than curse the darkness. Sometimes cursing the darkness is more satisfying - cursing darkness does not mean one wants the light right at that moment.

I am now going to date myself by announcing that I remember when two Presidential candidates argued about whether they were glass half-empty, half-full people during a debate. It was the first time I'd heard the expression.

You know, people never ask WHAT is it half-empty/half-full of? Scotch, it's half-empty. Vinegar, it's half-full.
